I cannot remember which ones but I got them from Wal Mart. You can use plastic worms as well

If you hook it well enough it will hold. The size hook helps too.

My problem is a gator keeps taking my bluegill and runs off with it and if I put a bobber, the gator runs to my bobber and bites it

Yea those gators can be a problem. I’ve had this same problem with turtles

My bluegill always die I wonder why the bass won’t eat them I tried diffferent sized different hook placements and still no luck
