You can only use the smart assistant feature on the Rome if it’s on Wi-Fi. So unless you’re by some type of Wi-Fi not including you phones hotspot it won’t work if connected to Bluetooth.

I own a JBL 3 and it went from good sound to distortion in less than 24 mths. I never listened at max volume. Good thing it’s cheap. You get what you pay I guess.

jbl charge 5 having good sound makes me laugh. Rtings rating on sound quality is 6,4 even the Ue Wonderboom 3 that is 3x smaller has a sound quality rating of 6.8

For a relatively small, 40 watt MONO SPEAKER, notice, I said MONO, NOT STEREO, I emphasize this for one reason. It's not easy to make a single channel or mono speaker sound good. You only have one speaker & tweeter to work with. As opposed to stereo, you have a front left speaker & tweeter, & a right front speaker & tweeter. 4 usually sound better than two last time I checked. For a mono designed speaker, the CHARGE 5 does sound good at 50-60% volume.

@@TotshotAirsoft For the money spent & considering the size of it, YES. It is a mono & or single channel design. Keeping this in mind, with the EQ set to flat at 50-60% volume, yes, it does sound good. It also has really good bass response, for a speaker it's size.

@@TotshotAirsoft I've never listened to the SOUNDLINK FLEX, so I can't speculate on that particular speaker. It's smaller & more portable, due to the carry strap. In terms of overall value, I believe that the CHARGE 5 is the way to go. It offers 40 watts, ( 30 watts driver, 10 watts tweeter), as opposed to 20 watts going to a full range driver, for the BOSE SOUNDLINK FLEX.
