That's true. With all the internet scams that are common today especially the romance scams, the victims deny being scammed no matter how much everyone else tries to convince them. They send thousands of dollars to a total stranger (usually in Nigeria) who promised millions will be sent to them later. It's hard to convince romance scam victims as well. My sister knows an elderly lady who gave a scammer her personal information and he cleaned out her bank account. Before he did, family and friends, including my sister, kept telling her the guy was a scammer but she wouldn't believe them.

Just because your people suffer cognitive deficiencies don't try and elevate yourself by undermining others. This video only relates to you Americans, it isn't about the "average" person because obviously Americans, hence you, are below average. You've already demonstrated you cannot comprehend what you're being told: it's not about anyone else except Americans. Americans ARE NOT the average person. Americans are vastly outnumbered by different nations, Americans therefore are not representative of the "average" person. America doesn't even constitute 5% of the total human population.

When I was a kid I was super into dinosaurs and the more I read I was so confused because the church I went to said that the earth had only existed 5,000 years but due to my obsession with dinosaurs I knew billions year old dinosaur bones existed. The discrepancy in timelines didn’t jive well with six year old me so I asked at the end of a church service. The church leader told me that dinosaurs lived with mankind. I politely nodded and fake smiled while thinking this guy was either lying or an idiot. At six I knew that if by any chance humans and dinosaurs coexisted humans would have gone extinct 😂

I believe it's much simpler than the frog in the pot off water analogy. Considering, most polling skews toward older people with landlines, your hypothesis makes a lot of practical sense. Significant portions of the catastrophic predictions won't happen until after their reasonable lifespan. A person 76 year young doesn't really have a need to worry about something expected to be problematic in specific regions around 2038, especially if they live elsewhere. This also may explain the HTML & USB outcomes as well as realising the importance of "someone else" knowing tech and computer jargon. It doesn't have anything to do with their day to day lives, and one should not blame them for perceived ignorance. The polling industry is outdated and fading as fast as they are because of this.

It really is a disgrace that so many people are receiving terrible educations. Religion doesn't belong in public school at all, nor should it be allowed to shape curriculum. Honestly I see the spread of Fundamentalism in the U.S. as a bigger threat to our country than Russia... It welcomes ignorance and willfully denies inconvenient facts and truths. But even without the influence of religion on our public schools, clearly we are failing our children. As many have brought up, funding is certainly an issue for many schools, and requiring teachers to instruct course work they are not at all familiar with or qualified to teach is another problem--and that's thanks to the low salaries we pay them, leading to teacher shortages.
@Serai36 жыл бұрын
No, it's not a bigger threat than Russia. Fundamentalism has been here for over a century; it's home-grown. Russia is an enemy nation bent on destroying our government and our country, and they're on the brink of succeeding. Please get your priorities straight.
@kenappleton1366 жыл бұрын
I agree, we are destroying our future by not giving our children a proper education, this is the parents fault as much as the government. Parents wont take responsibility for or discipline their children therefore the schools have to use far too much time, effort and money to protect the students and less for actual education. Your also right that religion has no place in the schools, religion is a private matter and should be left for the church. Besides if any religion was allowed any time in the schools then every religion would deserve equal consideration and this just isn't realistic or necessary for the education of our children.

Interesting to see how many comments criticize this video as poorly researched, bashing americans etc. I immigrated 20 years ago and have to say: I wouldn't give Americans as much credit as Simon does. There is a staggering number of uneducated and/or plain stupid people in the US who have little understanding of how the world works. This is even true for people holding higher degrees. Don't get me wrong, I love America - it would be better without people though :-) Let's just take one point: Americans know barely anything about the constitution. Most prominent in my book would be the first and second amendment. Americans really do believe that the second amendment was written with the intent for anyone to run around bearing arms. Well, it was not and that becomes clear the moment you actually read the second amendment. Yet, one of the most powerful lobbying institutions in the US steadfastly promotes the idea of people running around with guns to celebrate their freedom (when technically the US are the one free country with the least free people in the world since about 1% of the US population is incarcerated - a lot more than are in prison in South Africa which comes in on second place. But hey, why not be best at something - at least the US are one of only 3 countries in the world still using a modified imperial system when the rest of the world actually can count to 10)

Uwe Schroeder In defense of the ancient system, it requires counting all the way to 12.

The term "Well Regulated Militia" was a legal term in the 17 and 18th Centuries. "Was the body of all able body men" from 16 to 45 most of the time, who were not part of the standard Militia. They were required to provide a firearm of modern design, in serviceable condition and 20 rounds for the same. The reason for this was to provide for the local or National defense. The drafters of the Constitution didn't trust the Republic not to oppress the people and insure they had a means to fight back

Well sin e its the 21th century... Would it not be time to rewrite the 2nd amendment. But somehow the usa seems to feel comfortable with laws created hmm.. 300 years ago....... talking about being stupid..
@docholiday83086 жыл бұрын
The basic history of the 2nd amendment goes back to Alfred The Great and Practicing at the Butts. Well Regulated Militia was a 16th to early 19th Century legal term defining all the the standards for the non standing militia.

Not ther rest of the world's fault that such a high percentage of people in different polls give so many bizarre and baffling answers. A poll is mere statistics. And the Mode has spoken.

Just mention gun control and you'll get Americans talking about the constitution and the 2nd amendment all day.

Gun control: 1. Hold your weapon firmly. 2. Only aim at what you intend to shoot. 3. Don't shoot what will get you in trouble. 3. Squeeze the trigger smoothly. 4. All weapons are loaded. 5. Wear eye and hearing protection.

Gun control is hitting the target your aiming for. What leftists and liberals want is guns removed from honest citizens. They know full well that criminals are not giving up their guns. They also know that gun laws have almost no effect on crime.

lol, as an citizen of these United States, yep makes sense, but then most people only function as high as their life demands of them, so that should say just how easy life is here compared to elsewhere

0:36 - Reminds me of a line from Homer Simpson; "Let us celebrate our new arrangement with the adding of chocolate to milk." Even Homer gets it but 7% of Americans don't!? What the hell, man!?

ok, you're another dull American. Try to understand what I'm saying here now, but it has nothing to do with humanity in general and is very clear about being pertinent only to the U.S.A. You should lose faith in your people but the rest of the world isn't as intellectually hindered as you: all the best with your intellectual deficiency
