Cm'on man! Don't tell me you sold it for a scratch. Ever heard of sand paper. You sand it with a fine grain grit, then polish it with any car polish. It removes the scratch completely. I do this to my watches every time. Works like a charm.

Main problem I have with Orient watches isn’t even the mineral glass. I have other watches with mineral glass who are fine after several years of ownership. The one thing I can’t get over is that because they are so affordable yet their movements aren’t as widely available as Seiko, they are throwaway watches. When servicing time comes, you won’t want to spend more than you spent on the watch to keep it in a good shape. Affordable Seiko watches have a way to avoid that because NH35/36 movements are so cheap and available that you might as well swap it, when time comes in 10/15 years and your 4R36 is dead, 50 bucks and your watch is ready to roll for another 10 years, an Orient on the other hand would most likely end up in the bin…
@thomasa.243 Жыл бұрын
That is one of the things I find interesting when looking at "watch KZbin". "I don't like this (mostly it is Quartz) watch because I can't service it. But the mechanical for the same price, I can." Yeah, but will you pay 200 USD to service a 200 USD watch? Maybe, but most probably not. Plus, you can also simply swap out most cheap movements, Quartz or mechanical.
@TheGrenadier97 Жыл бұрын
Personally i wouldn't be sad with service cost if it serves me for 20 years, which is the case for a lot of vintage Orients.
