When you're dropping bomb at a BB,you plane was at low altitude,and the bomb's penetration low,so no damage When you're dropping bomb at a CA,you're plane were high altitude,high penetration=over penetrate There is no problem with the bomber, the problem is the timing of your bombing

I mean, not really. He had no way of knowing that the Amagi wouldn't delete him with that salvo. A smart Amagi would have fired one gun at each segment of the CV to avoid damage being soaked up by saturation. Amagi has enough alpha to end this fight, but the opponent misplayed.

In my personal experience, With the bombers, you want to attack the ships from the front or the back, that minimizes the chance to miss/ricochet considerably since the bombs fall in the travel direction and cannot overshoot the target

Hey TopTier, you are generally an amazing player, but I must insist you are using the GZ Dive Bombers incorrectly. When I use them, I get a basically 1 citadel and 1 miss every drop, but I DO get that citadel. I would advise you get closer before you start your attack and drop higher, I like the WHITE to be a bit PAST the ship on a horizontal target and drop from higher. I think you'll find them much more effective. What happens is the bomb itself has more time to straighten out and land correctly, your drops are so close the bomb is still angled when it hits the ship and bounces. That attack at 12:31 is a great example of this.

Toptier, i was wondering if GZ torp bombers can cross drop. i understand that you prefer to fly outside of aa zone to prevent more dmg and start another atk. I have an idea, which is to perform your first attack as usual, then slow down and turn immediately to start second torp run (and also procc heal since you lost the agility; only if they prior-secured on your planes). I do this with lexington a lot, and i wonder if gz planes can work the same way. and... GG!

I'm also playing my gz a fair lot, so maybe I can answer. From my experience it's not really possible/worth it. If you immediately turn like Lexington or implacable, you won't be able to hit the ship with the second run due to arming time of the torps. If you fly away before turning to hit it you are halfway out of aa anyway and due to the speed and bad turning of the gz planes it's easier at this point to just get out of aa completely and then safely turn before a second run.

Need to wait a little longer for AP drops to get citadel hits. Wait for the white aiming circle to be on or just in front of the target so you can drop your bombs pretty early and give them flight time to get citadels. If you wait until the last second to release like you did on several drops here you'll overpen at best

Why do people keep hunting enemy CVs by going to their last known position instead of seeing where their planes are coming from? It is very obvious the enemy CV was not going to keep sitting at A3. If you are a CV player and the enemy was approaching what would you do? Sit still and wait to die or run away?

I say it all the time. Just because you shoot down alot of planes doesn't mean the carrier can suicide planes at you for the entire match. Unlike the rest of you, planes are our munitions. And we can indeed run out

How much lead is required for graf torpedo bombers ? I cant seems to find the good lead. I am lucky if I hit one torp with them. I use torpedo acceleration but still cant hit anything. And sometime they dont even activate before hiting the target, even if i drop them at the limit of the activation zone. :/

iirc torp accel is not really good for carriers... since the torp activation time is the same, you need to drop them earlier because the torps will run faster in the water but will not activate in time... i'm not 100% sure if it's good or bad, but that's my two cents

hmm, m8 i suggest you to go to practice and try to torp a bot that can move. always look back at your own torps to make sure if any adjustments could be made. As you said, the torps dont activate or you only get a lucky hit. Note that the enemy ship also tries to dodge your torps, so sometimes you arent that lucky to hit everything. Practice makes perfect, good luck!

As a CV experienced player, I doubt your target selection. Too many mistakes made in this game. You saved it in the end, but still... 1) Spotting with fighters is ok, but WHEN YOUR DD IS UNDER FIRE and spotting of enemy, HELP IT! - not only Z on your flank btw this game. 2) Cleveland was good choice, but finish it asap - that flyaround was bad because of both time it consumed and cleveland having time to get round the island and be able to dodge+hide your torps. Of course it can shoot in the meantime and can radar your DD, what were you thinking of? 3) Did you even noticed there were 3 ships trying middle run? Just in time you decided to fly all over to bismarck in back, you should help them by attacking enemies on the sides, that were sitting like ducks waiting for them to come out or trying to figure out the situation. Also an enemy CV was over them, again no fighter support from you. Why the heck? 4) Secondaries or, but why not using torp bombers for too long, when 5 of them are ready? One more HE volley could have brought you down immediately and you wouldn´t have time to do anything more => loss. Those worries of your team were right. Being there me in my Amagi, it would probably result in different way - even though I don´t know your weak armor, the result of HE salvo would make me convinced to fire HE again and not swapping for AP. That was risky as hell and badly played from Amagi, not something you deserve a special medal. 5) "Not going for DDs" is party acceptable, but it still might hunt your ships and worse - provide spotting for HE spamming radar Cleveland. So taking this pair down and distract them as much as you can - even spotting would be enough and could save one or two ships. There are few more, but they depend on playstyle and those are details. But these 5 are major flaws and could cost you a game. Speaking for myself, who just ranked out yesterday from T8 sprint in Shokaku in around 30 games (total 45 I think, but first 15 I tried Kidd, and it only got me up to 7* and down to 8nothing and after 5 losses in a row due to bad teams mostly I switched to a "class-able-to-carry-teamplay=carrier").

@@TTier I will quote another top player and youtuber here (Flambass), that this game rewards in xp much more pure dmg then teamplay. And statistics even more. Yesterday I have had really tough and close battle just on this map. Really great after a longer time. Finished 2nd in team with 2 kills and 110k dmg while spotting and hunting for other 2 teammates (finishing 1st and 3rd) and we literally turned the game. I was the only one able to spot and dmg DDs and done that with 3 of 4. Same with forcing damacon on ships with floods/fires. This teamplay I really didn't saw. And I agree that 100+avg dmg is good, so statistics say. But I tried to tell that damage is not the only variable important here. And like Jingles like to point out - great damage values and records are usually in games when both teams suck and you are one if few capable players.

You are dropping your torps bombers too close to ships. Also you are doing Dive bomber runs wrong. You want to drop at the top/ 3/4ths down on BBs. You could have much more damage

spr5114 m8, gz bombs really are not like rts, so not only is height considered, the bombs also fly in different directions, so ritochets and torpedo protection hits happen too often, it really is rng. and in terms of gz’s torps, they are the fastest planes but slowest torp speed. get used to the defects of her planes...

I know how the game works. I have much more luck dropping the way I said. But as far as toro drops? That isn’t RNG if you drop to close like he did multiple times in this video the side torpedoes do not arm... Has nothing to do with RNG. Haha
