I think recency bias and personal feelings have affected people's opinions regarding who will win the upcoming Topuria vs Holloway fight. Most UFC fans like and respect Max, myself included, and hope that he will win. I also like Topuria, since I like skilled fighters and he's the best MMA fighter I've seen since I started watching the UFC in 1995. Topuria is even better than GSP and Demetrious Johnson. I just saw a fighter's pick video by Scrap and Roll MMA, which showed that 33 out of 38 fighters picked Holloway to beat Topuria. Topuria is a younger and better version of Volkanovski, with great wrestling and Bryce Mitchell level jiujitsu. He also has knockout power like Alex Pereira. In the UFC, he has slept Jai Herbert, Ryan Hall and Alexander Volkanovski. He even has a chin and has proven to have good cardio for 5 rounds. His coaches even have fight videos of Holloway's losses to Poirier and Volkanovski to plan a fight strategy against Holloway. Teddy Atlas, a man who knows a thing or two about boxing, has said that Topuria is the best boxer in the UFC. Topuria has been caught twice with head kicks, so this is his only weakness. However, he slept those 2 fighters out in the very next round. Topuria is very fast and has very good defense. In his fighting career, Topuria has not been hit very often during his fights. This will be a great fight, since Holloway has so much heart and a good chin. However, it's pretty much a lock that Topuria will win. I wouldn't be surprised if he knocks out Holloway. It's very exciting to see a fighter on the path to becoming a GOAT in the UFC. We'll see how solidly Topuria cements his case within the next 3-5 years.
