Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

65lb. braid is unnecessary but your choice.... 30lb braid will get the job done even with a 15lb. bass... Bama Bass Steven Russell uses 17lb mono Stren.. You will get more bites in open water because they don't see mono but see braid... Thick line is only good for heavy cover and dark waters... He also learned from the real legend Pat Cullen out of Valdosta who caught several tanks over 10lbs. night fishing top water.. You're still a good fisherman no doubt.

I have been frog fishing for 20 years and only tip I tell my family and friends is - fish it all the way to the boat or bank. I can’t tell you how many big fish I’ve caught 15 feet from my boat but 30-40 feet away from the cover I threw it in.

I’m a beginner on fishing things. I can’t figure out why I keep having bird nest most of the time when I throw my baitcast. Do I need to add weight to my bait? Any way to setup the brakes on the reel? Help please and thanks

You need to adjust ur reel so it will cast easier or harder, look at the side of ur rod and there’s a nob. Twist it forward for it to tighten so it’s harder to cast, twist backward so it’s easier to cast. If ur getting rat nests, then just right before the bait hits the water, jam ur thumb on the line, so you don’t bird nest.

I've been using the 6th sense. Haven't gotten anything on it yet except a snapper. But it's nice to throw and real in without worring about getting snagged on limbs and such
