Car wrapping - BMW F10 535 satin dark grey + gloss black

BMW 535d was was wrapped in 3M 1080 satin dark grey with lots of gloss black details by TopWrapz. Carbon front splitter was fitted during the project.
I broke my timelapse video camera during this shoot :( . Fortunately I got my mini DSLR witch takes a bit better quality clips so we're going to have better youtube material in the future!

I respectfully disagree with everything Mr. Freeman spews. He proves how little he knows about wraps, as soon as he mentions the word 'wet'. All wraps are applied dry. Never wet. Clay bar is never used. Again, it is isopropyl alcohol that is used here. With that said, you have a wrap style that is worthy of the highest praise in excellence.

Wrap is designed to last around 3-5 years. Of course paint is much more durable than PVC vinyl, but it's quicker and cheaper to re wrap a panel than paint the whole thing if it gets damaged from for example stone chips. And wrap protects the OEM paint from scratching etc.

I'm wrapping my infinity fx 45. The round body is making the process quite difficult and the fact that I bought cheap Chinese Vinyl due to my budget doesn't help and I chose chrome orange at that. Question: what typ of heat gun do you use?

oh, I would stay away from chinese brands... And chrome is extremely difficult to install especially if you are working on you own. My heatgun is Steinel HL 1920 E.

Looks super dope! Do you have any footage on how you wrapped the roof and shark fin? I've seen a couple of different methods, and I'm about to give it a shot myself, so I'm wondering what method you did? Is the shark fin done with one piece? Did you wrap the roof rails separately? Hi! Unfortunately i don't have video about the roof/antenna wrap. The shark fin is done with one piece, using one relief cut on the back. the overlap follows the bodyline of the left back edge, so it's nearly invisible. It's pretty difficult install with one piece, but once you learn the correct stretching technique and use premium material, it's actually pretty straight forward. i didin't remove the antenna with this car. new bmw's are pita with antenna removals bc the roof has a small drop where the antenna is placed. I always remove the rails and wrap them seperately. it makes the roof wrap much easier, you can clean everything good, and get the corners etc. tight and clean with no stress on the vinyl. rails pop out in no time, and the brackets just side out after that. inserts from separate pieces too but I don't remove them from the rails.

Awesome job - I have a hard time with PPF, can only imagine the color wrap where every mistake can be seen from 300 ft away.. Just curious, in a couple years when you go to sell, is there any damage to paint underneath? What is the removal process?

PPF is totally different thing and surely not easy! And material costs are much higher so there's a higher risk if the install fails... Wrap protects the paint well, and removal is pretty straight forward. You just need to heat the wrap so the glue gets warm, and it can be peeled off with minimal or no adhesive residue left.

thanks. It's a snow foam wash, very good way to wash a car. You have to use a special lance which connects to your pressure washer's tip and a special snow foam washing agent. I use ValetPRO Advanced Neutral Snow Foam. Search some videos here, there's plenty available .

Thank you! Actually this satin finish is probably the most easiest wrap to take care of. I think that all of my customers who has a satin wrap on their car have said that it's really easy to maintain. Usually a pre wash is enough, like a snowfoam wash. And darker color makes it even more good as for example a with color would show built up dirt faster. So this satin dark grey would be a great choice for you. Probably my favorite wrap color, too.

chris m yes, stone chips might damage the wrap, like they would the paint job too. You can't really touch up damaged vinyl, but replacing a panel is cheaper than repaint.
