Hey! We share the same feeling my fellow Iranian brother :) Nordic folk music has a very special place in my heart as well. Gotta admit .... when I listen to artists like Wardruna, Heilung, Forndom, Eivør, Skáld etc. my mind doesn't understand a word but my heart and soul 100% do, and I believe that's the sheer power of music. Only the universal language of music can connect all of us with each other in some way and evoke something so deep and primal at the core of our shared human experience regardless of our nationalities, gender, age etc.

While stationed in Germany in 1989, i drove to Denmark, and surprisingly, my last name was as common there as Smith or Jones in the US. So many phone book listings... Then I later found out my father was adopted, so it doesn't matter now. I'm related to inbred Nebraskans Mennonites. But! I'll never forget the week I spent in that beautiful country and the amazing photographs I took of the giant sailboats (right out of the movies), other docked boats, horses on open pastures, stone pathways, hay covered residences, mansions and the people. The entire place was just so photogenic that its easier to describe with the photos I took.

Last year I had tickets for the a Heilung concert, with Myrkur as the first supporting act. Didn’t know then then. It took ages to queue for entry, but I was relaxed as I thought „oh you‘ll just miss some support acts“. Then Myrkur started playing and I was so desperate to get on the concert pitch .. their music hooked me from the first notes. Seeing them in Vienna soon .. 🤩🤩🤩
