Love these guys. Last time they came through Tulsa they played at a mid sized venue while Garth Brooks was there doing a multi-night run and I made a couple of t-shirts that said "I'm only here for Brooks" on the front and on the back just said "...Steve".

Still miles ahead every other stoner band. Everything is just perfect!

Yup. Almost wouldn't even consider them stoner, as most stoner bands just stay in the same narrow path and never experiment or use any other sounds. This is like stoner shoegaze or something wonderful.

Is it rude to suggest that the vocals are too low in the mix?
@onhallowedgrnd5 жыл бұрын
Depends, low vocals is a shoegaze thing, bands like mbv, ringo deathstarr, and whirr all do it. It sounds like this band are at least a bit influenced by that genre, so it might be deliberate, sounds pretty good regardless
@dorianford62275 жыл бұрын
Vocal mixes in rock bands in general imo should be slightly lower than the band. I feel that’s what makes their sound cool. Their vocals are approached like another instrument and somewhat of an afterthought. It’s not the sole focus of the music like pop music.

The guitarist John Nunez mixed this session himself. So I’m sure this was exactly what him and Steve were going for. No disrespect if you’d just like em a little higher though, to each their own.
@hexywesky4 жыл бұрын
Jsyk if you turn your volume up as loud as it goes, the vocals will be louder. I’m pretty sure that will help
