Great commentary with helpful advice.. Love your loose style. Could you also mention your colors? You mentioned cobalt and burnt sienna, any others? Thank you, I'm excited to see more. Animals, perhaps?

Pamela Merle thank you! I'm not too big on color, I see everything as warm and cool :) but I will probably do a color lesson in the future. And yes! I just did a cat painting lately, I'll put it together soon

Portraits are damn difficult. You made this look easy...

Hey!! Love your videos!! Glad I found your site. I've subscribed. Actually, I was wondering something ... as someone just getting into watercolor and has a limited budget, say three brushes of cheap/med quality or one brush of high quality. What would be the brush that you use the most? Would it be a mop/wash? Anyhow, love the portrait. I learned a lot about warm/cold tones for the skin watching this. I can also tell that you're a learned artist by how you sketched the face, with the emphasis on planes. It looked like a sculpture being made

Excellent lesson. If you painted Torey from a photo, would you be able to add a link of the reference photo? It will help me understand your process better. Thank you so much and really love your style as well as your generosity in teaching.

I did paint it from a photo, however, since she's not a professional model. I will have to ask if she's comfortable with showing her photo here =)

and if I'm completely honest, I hesitate to show the original photo because I can't do her justice.. she's really beautiful =P

thanks for this nice and interesting video. I have a question; what is your general skin tone? Which colours do you use?
@Cafewatercolor7 жыл бұрын
william Beekeeper mostly the mixture of cad red medium, yellow ochre, cad orange, burnt sienna.. its hard to say a specific mixture because I think if color in warms and cool. For the skin tone though, I try not to mix more than 3 colors at once.. so it doesn't get too dirty
