Hate that sunak is trying to use the hospitality industry as a stick to beat the union strikes with. I've been in the hospitality industry in one form or another for 19 years, it's the industry I love, but is the lowest paid skilled trade around. We get treated like garbage by the public and our employers, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Everyone I know in the hospitality industry is massively behind the train unions, nurses, postal workers etc, we just wish we had a union that looked out for us in the same way.

An average NHS nurse’s pay is around £34,000/year. The government spent £9Bn ( or NINE THOUSAND MILLION POUNDS) on defective PPE during Covid. That equates to the government squandering over 10 years worth of the salaries for over 26,000 additional nurses on defective PPE. Mone's deal alone for £203,000,000 would pay the annual salaries of close to 6000 nurses. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!
