not that it matters (i already got the new diamond wheel at 360 grit), but just wondering what the difference would be between sb-250 and dc-250?

Hello Lee, Glad to hear you've got the DC-250. It really is a question of what preference one have. The main difference is that the Diamond Wheels always remains the full size diameter, while you'll have to true the Black Stone. Also you can sharpen on the side of the Diamond Wheels, which you can't do with the stone. The Black Stone is especially good when you need to shaping and sharpening HSS steels. We have made a Grinding Wheels Guide on oyr website where we explain the main differences. @@TormekSharpening thanks for the quick response. i always wonder, does the diamond wheel also sharpen faster? i've noticed that the original wheel doesn't do much "damage" to vg10 or sg2 knives, especially when compared to my new 360 grit diamond wheel. the amount of time it takes to sharpen those knives on the original wheel doubles or triples, at minimum. i also have the 4000 grit japanese water stone wheel. if you don't mind my asking, what would be the best choice for me if i can only have 1 more diamond wheel? the 600 or the 1200? most of my kitchen knives are vg10 and sg2. thanks.

You should be thankful. Turns out, the Tormek blackstones are garbage.
