This was one real thriller! It's been a long time since I've been so invested in a movie, but this one kept me on edge right up until the end. The effects were basic, but since they were used so sparingly they don't take you out of the movie, which I appreciate. Wish movies today would take a hint and use special effects less. I had a good time watching this one, and if you're reading this before watching: go for it, it's great. It starts off a bit slow, but once it gets going, it really _goes._

Good one. I wish some other guys had this kind of guilt for all the women they mistreated over the years. But most of them seem to get away with it, and feel great to be in office. So what's to be done. Vi was a good haunter ghost and this man had a conscious, so it's comparing apples and oranges. I like the way this man had so many people that loved him, yet he was trapped by his first bad decision. Scary movie. Hard choices, and it kept coming. Tormented is a good title. A sixties tale of wisdom like a Greek Tragedy. Thank You!

I'm with O on this. I love Twilight Zone and Hitchcock, but this was a little too zany for me. I ended up hitting the fast forward button a lot. I loved the little girl, though. I think the main problem for me was not just the quirky special effects (which I did try to make allowances for given when this was made) but the fact that we're seeing this all from the bad guys perspective but they didn't develop him well enough for me to care about him. He wasn't pure bad guy (like the ones in Columbo), but I wasn't "on his side" enough when he didn't save Vi to be drawn into the mess he made. If they had developed his relationship with his fiancé first and then surprised us with Vi, I think I would have cared about him a lot more.

During the first part I just about cut it off the because the manifestations were so hokey! But somehow it becomes interesting as it goes along. The child did a very good job with her part. Amazing at that age to do so well. I wouldn't add it to my list of favorites, but it kept me entertained. Wasn't that the purpose?

Sandy's father Burt I Gordon was the director, and she's in a good Twilight Zone episode and other recognizable shows.

Vi was certainly beautiful and not someone to turn down. I think he wanted to return to innocence which is what the other lady represented. But he was not innocent and that was the wrong lady for him. He should have stayed with Vi and built a happy life with her.

He wanted to marry the younger woman because she came from a wealthy family with good reputation.

@@louniece1650 Yes. But it is deeper than that. it is also that he wanted to return to innocence. Vi was a nightclub singer. Very sexy. Older. Not the innocent-looking type. The fiancée and her little sister represented innocence and youth. That is what was appealing to him more than money. They could have made the fiancée very sexy and older as well but they didn’t because they were contrasting the two different types of women. That is why Vi threatened him with the love letters. She was threatening to let the fiancée know that he was a worldly man, not an innocent college student type which is what the young woman should have been marrying. The rest of the movie illustrates that he was not young and innocent and did not belong around those who were young and innocent. He had a dark side capable of murder. Sorry but I’m an English major and I always see the deeper meanings in stories.
