Holy crap dude, thats bad ass, your own thunderbolt!!!! We still have a few around here left over from the Cold War era that are used for tornados... I do not like the sound of the newer ones... These suckers are a part of my childhood growing up huddled in the closet during tornado warnings.

How in Heaven's name can so much sound come through that "small attachment point" to the chopper housing? .. it's amazing! ... even with the blower function, I can't understand how that small opening at the entrance to the horn can pass so many decibels.

Perfect pitch setting for a Thunderbolt in my opinion. Also, can tell you've got this baby in nice working condition! Love that distinct Thunderbolt sound. Today's tornado sirens SUCK compared.

There's a thunderbolt locater site that uses google maps if you search for it you'll find it easily...if you already know about it...he's even got the exact models and serial numbers cataloged for EACH and EVERY location nationwide. It's a game changer!

Charlie, I travel to Nashville a lot, being a musician. I have recorded an eclipse 8 there, but when I contacted the town of Nashville, they were unaware of anything about sirens. Where do they put their old sirens? Next time I go, I want to visit the junkyard they are in.

It needs to come down for stripping, re-priming and re-painting. Use a self-etching metal primer to avoid flaking, and apply a clear coat to reduce UV damage.

I'll be doing a video on the siren repair soon. The rotator has stopped working properly. The shop (or I should say "old" shop) has had all the devices removed minus the traffic lights. I moved the whole fire alarm system to my new office across town where it actually has a purpose now.
