I have lived through two EF3 tornadoes. My nephew lived through both of the Moore, Oklahoma EF5 tornadoes. When you see one up close and personal you understand that we are helpless against the power of nature. And tornadoes sound like tornadoes nothing else. Once you hear it you will never forget it.

I've been in three tornados and luckily Survived them. Those things scare the hell out me. Monolithic dome homes have been shown to withstand hurricanes, fires, floods and tornados. I don't know why the people don't have a way to get into a shelter from inside the houses. By not being able to get into shelters from inside their homes they stand an extremely great chance of getting killed.

Think about it…. If the entrance to a storm shelter is *inside* the house, and then house collapses, the entrance -which is also the *exit-* may be buried under a heavy pile of debris, trapping those inside.
@fredachildress37288 ай бұрын
I don't know if any of you have ever seen the house in Las Vegas, but it has an underground shelter which the people can get to from inside the house, and they also have another way of getting out of the shelter if the one inside the house does collapse. You just might want to do your research just like I did before you make a comment like you did.
@altitudeiseverything31638 ай бұрын
@@fredachildress3728 I specifically pointed out that the problem lay with home shelters that only have *one* entrance/exit. And the fact is most home shelters -whether beneath the home or separate- have exactly that… *one.* Until two entrance/exit shelters become the norm, it’s necessary to point out this potential, and potentially life-threatening, issue. But, hey… great for that *one* home in Las Vegas. 🙄 No need to be so defensive when someone merely mentions an important detail in hopes that it might help someone avoid a serious mistake.

Cool movie, the ending was quite cute. I've been in two Tornadoes with little warning, caught outside in one of them, on a golf course, on a clear day the storm came out of nowhere, but I only had scratches on my arms and face from the parts of a 70 foot tree the Tornado tore apart. That was 43 years ago, before we had the storm prediction systems we have today. My first Tornado hit us in November of '65, in Tinley Park IL and during the storm a lightning strike made our apple tree catch on fire, it was split in two. We took shelter in our cellar, and other than damage to our vines which we made and sold grape jelly locally, our home withstood the F2 Tornado.

I was chased by a tornado down I-75 in Michigan, on the way home from Traverse City. I saw this tornado in my rear-view mirror, and gunned the engine, that thing chased me for 5 miles, before I was able to get off the highway at the Grayling exit. As I got off the highway, I saw the tornado cross right to left, (North to south) in my rear-view mirror. As Maxwell Smart, Agent 86 says, " missed me by that much". Been in and around several over the years.

Worth the watch. Good acting and CGI eh. I lived in Amarillo when the tornadoes came through. When the sirens blew I was at work and we shut down then ran to the shelter. Nothing was left of my building. 60 foot light poles looked like pigs tails. My house was safe but had no electricity and that would last for a month. I went and stayed with friends but moved later that year.

Really good movie !!! My Dad built a storm cellar just outside a side door. Didn’t have to go far to get in it. The eye of Hurricane Carla came through our small town in Texas in 1961 about 150 west of Houston. I was 6 yrs old. We took in a family from Houston as the storm was passing through. Have lived in Tornado Alley all my life in Texas and now in Kansas. Thank God homes in Kansas are required to be built with basements. Our home has a section in the basement with 3 walls of concrete. But, I still stand out on the front porch watching storms as my husband is yelling at me to get it the basement. MB?

I moved out of tornado alley after 25 years of tornados. The last one was 3 together. We received 30s of warning. We ended up moving up the stairwell after the solid steel metal startded be pulled out. We could see outside. The huge waterpipe that would take multiple people to go around started spewing water. I was reading my bible and praying. I had my first class that night and was flash flooding. I was able to get through in my little Toyota Tercel. The class was cancelled. I was greatful and thankful. It's nothing but a movie, meant for entertainment. The writers can, will, and always do, take creative license, facts not needing to be followed for a piece of fiction. I can never understand why anyone tries to correct anything as blatantly obviously incorrect when it's very clear it's meant to convey something akin to "the horror of the storm," and nothing more.
