watching this in 2023. by the end of this year these clips will be 10 years old when he was filming these i was 6 turning 7 at the start of the summer (June 12). It’s crazy that these events happened when i was that young and also how much i’ve changed since then. and the fact that he’s been doing this for longer than this. it’s insane. i was just ending kindergarten and going into 1st grade, still a naive little kid. I won’t get into it much but in the years since i’ve gone through a lot and it’s changed so much since i was young. i wish i could go back but i try not to hold on to that since it’s obviously impossible. i’ll be 17 this year. my life is just flashing right past me. thanks for these. you’ve been doing this for a long time and have only been getting better. it’s crazy what you’ve been doing for more than 10 years and also congrats on 1 million!! :)

I just discovered your channel yesterday, and your content is among the finest on KZbin, regardless of topic. Everything about your uploads is exceedingly well done. The editing, narrative, soundtrack and script are thoughtfully and intelligently constructed and integrated. Perhaps most significant is the success with which you create an emotional 'pull' that consistently impacts viewers and builds upon itself as the upload progresses, leaving us feeling renewed and subtly altered in a positive manner at the upload's conclusion. Your work generates and radiates much-needed agape in today's perplexing, difficult and sometimes frightening world, and you remind us that beauty can de discovered and appreciated in every moment, even among the tribulation life brings. I offer you my sincere congratulations and thanks.

But I am suddenly finding vids from years ago I've never seen. I've watched numerous vids the last few days, for the first time. How did that happen? I do know for the last three or four years, I haven't gotten his vids in my recommendations anymore, until recently. His content doesn't seem to be the type that would be censored by algorithms. Even still, that doesn't explain how I see vids from seven or eight years ago I've never seen, when I know I went thru his playlist and watched everything. since the el reno tornado left a scar on the earth it should get a higher rating then a EF3

Gaming4Life123 i think the enhanced fujita scale is used to determine the damage to buildings, and not just anything the tornado damages.

This is a very well-done video. Good commentary and details! I also like the way that you have helped so many turtles off of roads, such as in this video and in your El Reno tornado video! I can only wonder what 2014 holds in wait...

Gotta stop for all the turtles... and snakes... and sometimes bison. Appreciate your appreciation Dustin. Happy 2014!

Pecos Hank Happy 2014 to you as well! Also, no reply is required, but I forgot to say that I liked the way that you said how a 200+ mph tornado could be rated an EF-0 if no significant damage is caused. I thought that this was strange, because there was another tornado near El Reno on May 24, 2011 which was rated an EF-5 based off of mobile doppler radar data (>210 mph winds), despite there being an absence of EF-5 damage, similar to the May 31, 2013 tornado. I believe the 2011 tornado is the same as the one you show at 5:13. The two tornadoes both had measured EF-5 winds, but only the 2011 tornado's rating actually had the data implemented. I would have thought that the 2013 tornado would be especially deserving of an EF-5 rating (295+ mph winds), but I don't make the ratings (although I, personally, would be in favor of implementing the radar data when making the ratings).

Dustin Saltzman Yeah man! I saw that 2011 El Reno EF5. (Vid on the channel) It was the darkest day i've seen. Unreal motion... Didn't dare get any closer in fear of a satellite materializing over my head.

I think what's best about your videos has to be the natural sound of thunder in these storms, none of that cheesy "timed" samples that other productions slap into their videos. Sounds just awesome.

Hi Pecos Hank, First of all I want to compliment you for the most beautiful and impressive tornado videos I've seen so far. It really has an artistic touch. I live in Germany and I have also plans to chase and document some storms here, since I found out that tornadoes in Germany are also a common thing. Before I start to bombard you with questions like "how to chase?", "how to read the clouds or weather data?", or stupid questions like "is it really that dangerous?" and so on :) (I will educate myself here, I'm not that foolish), I decided to ask you just which camera equipment do you use (photo camera, video camera)!?.. and.. do you edit the footage with a special software program? I really love the color in your videos! Any other recommandations? However, keep up your great work .. I'm looking forward to see some great storms in 2014! Igor

That day I chose the storm to the South and bagged 2 tornadoes near Duncan. Generally I avoid chasing in the big cities... Tornadoes and traffic are not a good mix.
