Thanks for the tip about the Basil basket! I think it might work for us with our bordoodle and the TravatoK. We have put off buying one of the tow carriers as we couldn't figure out where to store it while underway. You might like the Sherpa Crash Tested Seatbelt Safety Harness, Black, Medium that was suggested to us last year when we knew we would be doing a long driving trip. The seat belt fits through a sturdy handle at the bag and he sits on the drivers side bed on a seat cover, happy as a clam and we don't worry. We liked it so much we got one for the car as well. It's not great for a walking harness though, it loosens off on the walk. Or at least we haven't been able to keep it tight. Would be great for the basket though.

Thanks for the suggestion on the harness, we will check it out, it sounds like it would work better than what we are doing. Maggie is getting a lot better riding, I think she actually likes it.

We were watching the weather that day too!! My phone seems to get the tornado warnings so as usual I left it on beside me while I slept. The Crooked River State Park was hit by a hurricane a couple years ago. It took them around a year to get it open again. Looks like they did a fantastic job. You guys seem to find the best campsites!!

We do get lucky finding campsites, but there are times when they aren’t so great, it just part of camping. I didn’t realize that Crooked River was hit by a hurricane, they have do a great job getting everything repaired.

Maggie is so trusting of her people or she would have an issue sitting in her basket, what a good girl. It’s so hard to leave your little ones behind for a bike ride or to go somewhere they are not allowed. I get a little crazy when someone says “Oh, she’s just a dog and they limit what you can do on vacation.” No, I plan my days in ways I can enjoy my bestie to either be with me or keep her comfortable in my absence. She has been my lifesaver since my husband passed on and she knows every little move I make and anticipates what’s happening. Crooked River Park is pretty cool. Traveling with the possibilities of severe weather can be nerve racking, 18:51 18:51 and have been in that situation more than once, been lucky to have just missed all the bad stuff. I think that is the one thing that heightens my awareness more than anything else. Enjoying your journey while having my first coffee on Sunday mornings, I really look forward to seeing how you three are enjoying life. 🙋🏼‍♀️❤️👍🇺🇸🐕

Glad you guys didn't get hit with a tornado! We had the same experience a few years ago in GA and it is a scary experience, especially in a trailer. Listened to local radio station and each phone had a different weather app on it. Kept my shoes on just in case we had to book it to the bathroom.

I wanted to add that Maggie weights between 30-35 lbs and she fits well not a lot of room to more around which I think is a good thing. We also put a small cushion in the bottom for more comfort.

It all comes down to being able to store a bigger fire pit in less space in the garage. Plus it is warmer and allows us to cook over it and grill over it. It just fits better in the garage and the more we use it the more we love it. Still love the Solo Stove and will still use it but this long trip we needed all the room we could squeeze out.
