Bought a 724 QXE 3 winters ago and its the best purchase of a piece of power equipment I ever made. Nothing stops this little giant. ;)

Very very very very nice video... I was doubtful about the city plow bank pile removal.. But you showed that in last.. Very helpful... Still how good is the personal pace? How much effort was yours in clearing the hard compacted snow & city plow bank?. 50%??

Watching a snowblower chew through a giant EOD drift is ASMR-grade satisfaction CMV What kind of cab do you have there? Having trouble finding out as most seem to be sold only for the two-stage variants

My 3 season old 824 OE would have eaten 2 auger shear pins doing this. Don't believe the marketing hype and make sure you have spares handy with a 10mm socket and wrench plus small hammer and drift with some foam for your knees. And even with ethanol free gas, stabilizer and sea foam for the summer, the carb is gummed up. You have been warned!

No idea. Good question. Maybe some one else has an answer, i would also like to hear it.
@Robey1Kenobi4 жыл бұрын
I think it's because it's fresh powder and maybe he has a counter weight on the front because of the encloser adding weight to the back.

Johnny Bigfoot It was doing it before I installed the cab also. I used it for one year before I got a cab for it.

Most snow blowers ride up. The wheels are pushing and the front is resisting against that push resulting in it riding up. Reducing the drive speed can help until it cannot push into the pile. Or pushing on the handle bar. Usually it is faster to let it ride up, then back up and go again. Other option is to shovel some of the bank off into the cleared area and then blow it, or to add some weight to the front. Weight kits only help a little, a bigger heavier blower helps a lot but even my big blowers will ride up in the right conditions.

What happens when snow gets on the "windshield" and blurs your vision? Does that ever happen? Is there a spray coating that can prevent that?

You're lucky that you had fairly light fluffy snow or that EOD plow pile would have been a real PITA!

it looks like a shovel would be more effective against that EOD plowed stuff, really need a 2-stage for that

@@nmarkus666 I have not... I would buy a SnowMaster though, I’m in the Snow Belt and it doesn’t take much for the plows to push solid ice into my driveway after a snowfall... I lived through White Death and I’m still here LOL
@mellowjammer3 жыл бұрын
@@nmarkus666 You are correct. I don't own it. In fact i own it's bigger brother the 824QXE since the first year they were made. You can see that the snow is dry and has not experienced any melt and re-freeze. That is where it becomes difficult for the machine to handle deep EOD piles like this. Not saying it can't be done, but you must take much smaller "bites" in order for the auger to be able to process the thick frozen chunks. If it is very cold and dry snow like in this video the machine will handle it just as you see here.

@@SCraig-Handsome I don't care how much pushing and pulling it takes with this machine. No way a shovel is easier or more efficient unless your trying to save gas!

@@enjoymp3s what RPM are you running at now? Do you know how much more it can safely run? Did you do it by adjusting the throttle screw on the carb or adjusting the governor?
@enjoymp3s4 жыл бұрын
hovermn I purchased a special wrench that goes on two screws to tune the engine. I don’t remember if the screws are on carb or not. It was last year. I watched some videos on KZbin how to tune the snow blower engine and got a good idea how to do it from those videos. And it worked well.

Anybody figure out how to keep this from riding up on compacted snow? Maybe weights or chains? Maybe I need to adjust the skid plates?
@Mmmyess4 жыл бұрын
I've never had it ride up on the snow. It's front heavy because the engine is forward of the tires and the bottom front edge cuts right into snow at ground level.
