Those Suzuki 2-cycle engines are amazing. They seem to run forever if the air cleaner is maintained and the gasoline mixed properly at 50:1 to 40:1. I was recently given a similar Toro Commercial but the Model tag is missing. Mine has no safety's whatsoever. When you start the engine, the Blade turns. No Blade Brake. Has a cable to engage the transmission by tightening the belt. Sadly, my Belt Cover is missing. The Gal that gave it to me said it hadn't run in years and it was sitting outside for many of them. She got it from a Landscaper that was converting to 4-cycle Mowers. I brought it home and removed the Mikuni Carburetor and cleaned it up. The idle jet has a very small hole and it was plugged. With the Carburetor off of the engine, you can inspect the skirt of the piston viewing through the ports. It has no visible scarring. The Gas Tank was full of sludge and rust. I still need to work on the Gas Tank. But as it is, I put in some premix and it started on the second pull. The mower is very ugly and the rear tires are bald. I was going to use it for parts but have decided to restore it. It has a safety tag saying Meets 1984 Safety Standards. Wish I could figure out the Model Number. Only complaint is the Muffler does little. I'd like to quiet the exhaust down somehow.

The "bail" is just for the self propel only....When engaged it pulls the mower forward. This is a comm mower, they are different than rez models. The engine is shut down with the throttle control. When you slide the throttle contol all the way back it kills the engine.

No. Pure and raw open blade action....the best!

All Suzuki engines on Toro mowers should run in the range of 2850 to 3150 rpm (3000 rpm should be targeted when the governor's return spring is in the middle hole of the governor linkage).

I have a 22030 I am working on. Came with no wheels. Would you be so kind as to list the outside diameter of the front and rear wheels? TY!

About a hair over 7 3/4" I bought two replacement front wheels at Harbor freight that have been fine for two years now.. Rear would be a different story. You need the gear attachment to the rim.

@@Indy452 Thanks for the reply! I appreciate the information. I don't have the transmission either so I'll just be pushing it! Now I have an idea what to look for!

Even on the BBC models you have to stop the engine using the throttle.

Suzuki TV5002 = final "2" means "2 cycle." The OHV 4-cycle engines would have the "TV5004" designator on the recoil.

This engine has a 50:1 ratio of oil to gas. In this case, you would be using 2.6 ounces of oil to one gallon of gasoline to accomplish this. On home use mowers such as the 20684, with the two quart fuel tank, you would use 1.3 ounces of oil to two quarts of gas.

I'd Imagain you would have to rev the hell out of it, to get any thing like enough power to mow with???
@gabrielgomez24837 жыл бұрын
Alan Briggs no it makes plenty of power. And. Since it's a 2 stroke it spins almost twice as fast
