I was scared of 2 strokes until I bought a Mityvac and binge watched KZbin vids on them one weekend. Now I’m hooked!

If you have the proper knowledge anything is easy but taht doesn't make it fun! LOL Thanks for watching Ken.

Love 2 cycle engines. I currently have 17 2 cycle powered pieces of equipment that I use on a regular basis. I also collect and refurbish classic and antique 2 cycle pieces of equipment of which some are as old as 70 years. As long as routine maintenance is performed and ethanol free gas is used, 2 cycle engines give very little trouble, and whenever they do need work, they are so much simpler, except the newer ones. I used to help people by repairing their 2 cycle equipment, charging only for parts, but with the newer equipment and some of the older units like the blower in your video, at 75, I just don't have the patience any more to take the time to strip them down just in order to make the repair.. Your friend is lucky to have someone like you that still has the patience to deal with this type of machine. Plus, if they were to take this machine to a repair shop, they would probably have more in it than it's worth.

I have a 1978 Toro S-200.I cleaned carburetor,new diaphragm and installed a fuel shutoff valve..Shut gas off when done using it and let fuel run dry.She runs great every year for over 10 Winters.Those Toro's are American made!
@5beesgarage2 жыл бұрын
@@mikeb.4217 Words of wisdom right there! Draining the fuel for long term storage is the best way to keep equipment serviceable. All my equipment gets a fuel shut off if not equiped along with running it dry before storage. Thanks for the comment.

@@5beesgarage hey thanks for not installing a fuel shut off , a new pull rope and for not ordering a new gear for my machine.. ( and replacing the missing one ) hope my old rope doesn’t break and my carb doesn’t get clogged. But awesome fix .. the machine is almost like new and starts on 1-2 a pull
@5beesgarage2 жыл бұрын
@@kkphotoimages It would have been cheaper to buy a new machine than do all that. 5 Bees labor is expensive.

And the snap ring on the end of the starter shaft that holds on the pinion gear. If you lose that, you can't just go buy one at a hardware store. You have to order one from Toro. It's their own certain size. If you don't, it wind up flying off.

The reason why it's cracked on the right side of the bottom cover is because people don't know about the slot in the middle on the bottom that goes over the engine bracket that is welded to the muffler so they force and force and it ends up breaking. They have their hands on that control panel and they are forcing up or down and it breaks right there.

You should of left the carb on and just replaced the diaphragm but before doing that you should of sprayed starter fluid in the carb slipped the back cover on and pull started.
@5beesgarage2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice Denny. I do not like spraying starter fluid in 2 stroke engines as there is no lubrication when doing that. What fun is not taking the whole thing apart? LOL
