This blower has absolutely replaced my commercial backpack blower. Much lighter, smoother, and easier to use- and very powerful. I am very happy with it as it does an excellent job of clearing leaves from my property. I agree with you that it would be nice if it had a longer nozzle or at least a removable extension. Also, for me, the other advantages of the Toro Powerjet F700 over the commercial backpack blower are NO gas, and NO smell, and it's quieter.

I have used both the toro f700, my father owns it. I bought the worx 800cfm. Buy the worx, it is more powerful.The variable speed adjustment on the worx is nice, and it’s fine without the extra handle knob thing on the front. You don’t need that. It’s not heavy, you will be more happy with the worx.

This is a great review, you showed the things I wanted to see like how it handles large piles of leaves. You also brought things to my attention that I didn’t think of, like how the variable speed knob works. I am a little disappointed to see this is the only review you have done, you have a great attention to detail which makes you a natural for these reviews. I am sure you would flourish in various other careers. I hope you are fully utilizing your talents because you seem very intelligent.

Great review. I have one and was thinking of getting a gas powered blower for my house but the price is just too much for the amount of power you get. 700+ CFM’s is about 300 CFM’s less than a gas powered high end backpack blower and about 200 CFM’s more than an entry level backpack blower, so the corded toro is right around the middle. I don’t have a lot of tress on my property and I’ve been keeping up with the leaves this fall so it’s been a beast of a blower but those darn cords… man those darned cords lol.

I agree, Toro could make an 80 volt cordless version of the blower, but that would be costly and worth it at the same time. They did make a 60 volt version of the blower, its close to its corded brother but not as powerful.

Great review. Bought one this morning and started using it immediately in the rain! Works great. Hang on, best with two hands. Cord lock works but I just wrapped around the handle to save the 12 gauge extension cord from cracking. Very light. Prior to purchase I was concerned it didn't have a long constricted nozzle. After using it. No issue...it blows hard and does not need a long nozzle.

If you don't wave the unit around as much and slowly rotate the nozzle it will lift the leaves and throw them 10-20 feet away. Let the air get under the leaves. By moving the unit left and right quickly, you can't take advantage of the air flow to lift and throw the leaves a distance. Stick to one 5-foot area for 10 seconds then slowly move to one direction or another. Give 10 seconds to lift and throw the leaves, but slightly rotating the nozzle helps to loosen, raise and push the leaves and debris.

I use a customers Worx WG546 when blowing the leaves & pine needles out of a small rocky drainage ditch. It only produces 90mph but it's enough to blow everything out & onto the driveway so I can sweep up from there. It's nozzle however is much longer than this Toro's. Additionally another blower I'm considering is the Worx WG520, which puts out 125cfm & 30mph less than the PowerJet F700. In practice, do you think the Toro's higher power can make up or exceed the advantage of the WG520's longer, narrow nozzle in my application?

Hard to say - one might expect better performance out of the Toro based on its specs, but maybe the Worx’s nozzle would compensate to a degree. Sounds like the Worx does well enough in your application, at least.

The leaf blower breaks right after the warranty. TORO won't sell any parts other than blower tube and the power switch. I was trying to find the impeller fan that was shredded to pieces on the edges and also carbon brushes. So, basically we would end up with a junk right after the warranty period. Shame on TORO!

Not mine. I've had mine for three years and it works great. VERY powerful, variable speed, and lightweight. Sorry you had such a bad experience with yours.

Great review thanks. I'm debating between this and a $300ish backpack blower, but I think I'll give this a try since it's hard to justify a $300 purchase on something I use a few weeks of the year for fall cleanup. Batteries blowers have come a long way and ideally that's the route I'd like to take, but the battery runtime isn't there yet for major cleanups unless you get a few backup batteries.

Really appreciate the footage. Your technique does not take advantage of the vortex, try starting more parallel and slowly point it downwards and really use the wind to move the leaves long distances. take that sucker apart and show us its insides!!!

Is 14 guage 50ft extension cord sufficient?

Dirty Trucker 14 gauge is only required if your cord is over 100ft. 16 gauge is the minimum for 50ft cords.

Great points - esp the cord requirement - if you use a 14 or even 12 gauge 100' power cord plan to spend $50+ on the cord and the extra drag weight. I like the variable speed - use low for blowing saw dust off a work table - but not the tools lol. SOLUTIONS: 1. use a 14 gauge 100' cord. 2. purchase an extension - even from a different brand or diy make an extension out of PVC drain pipe (not abs) and heat and bend the end to a tapered shape or plastic weld (using a solder iron to make a custom plastic extension).

Good video review. I'll probably get one of these tomorrow. I'll mostly be using it to blow tree seeds and leaves off my townhouses's deck and small patio. Also to clear the birdfeeder seed hulls off the patio. I have a Worx WG509 but haven't liked it so much as a blower, and don't use it for the vacuum. Might bring my PC out on the deck and blow out the dust too. Thanks for sharing.

I bought one of these blowers. I have a 45x100 foot city lot. I did not want a gas blower I had to maintain and buy gas for, nor did I want a battery blower because I just dont think batteries will last. So I got a plug in blower. After using this blower, l found it best to hold it with just one hand close to the front of the long handle and let the blower swing back a bit behind me. It made it almost weightless and easy to maneuver. The air intake was well behind me and the noise was too. I also have my cords on reels so there easy to use. I also plan to blow lite snow off my cars with it too. I have done this in the past with my old blower and have found this very easy to do. thanks Andrew, detailed and to the point, I was thinking of getting the Ryobi backpack gas blower that moves about 760cfm, went into HomeDepot and saw this thing with similar 725cfm, and without the concern of carburetor clogging down the road. The Ryobi costs $199, the Toro $56. I have a Toro electric blower that claims 350cfm, so I am used to the extension cord inconvenience. I have a big lot, maybe an acre that I blow oak and maple leaves. Wanted some faster and more powerful than my old Toro with 350cfm. What do you think?

I ORDERED THE WORX WG520 and after using it for a day, ordered the F700 just because I watched this video. (I think its a Tim Taylor thing!) The WG520 is absolutely powerful enough to easily clear my heavily treed, third acre lot of leaves. It's only drawback (for me) is the lack of a second grab handle to help control the somewhat tiresome strain caused by the rearward force. Other than that the Worx blower definitely moves lots of air. I am hoping that the extra 22% in wind speed and the extra 17% in air volume make a noticeable difference in the Toro's performance. I am thinking the second grab handle may be the only "MAJOR" F700 benefit.

@@SilverStrings25 Hi, The F700 did have a bit of an advantage in moving my six inch deep leaf "blanket" from the front yard to the gully at the back of my 1/3 acre rural lot. The Toro's extra front grab handle gives me two handed control of the machine and this is it's biggest benefit. JUST FOR INFO... (I find that it is best to begin blowing the leaves in sections beginning somewhere near the end of the job and then starting in a new section further toward the front yard. Doing it like this in sections keeps from piling leaves on top of leaves until you have a huge mound in front of you.)

I've had this and it is indeed really good. I used to have a gas powered back pack but it was too much of a pain. This was the best one I tried out, out of many. The ONLY NEGATIVE is the blower obviously has to suck in air and the grill/plastic that keeps debris from getting suckes in is not restrictive enough. In other words, small sticks and twigs can get in, especially if you set it down while it's about to shut off. This breaks the plastic blade inside and very easily. I had to take mine back and get a new one but I'm very careful now not to allow any debris to get near the back of the blower. I might get a hair net or something else to prevent stick and leaves from getting sucked in and breaking the blad.

Thanks for posting your review. I'm curious to see how this model compares to the worx WG520. I'm impressed with the cfm on these electric blowers but not sure since they don't have the mph of gas ones. I have some big oak trees around my house and they drop a lot of leaves.

Jack, you make a good point. This blower and the Worx WG520 have high CFM ratings, but somewhat low MPH ratings. What I can say (and what you probably already know) is that the Toro has a max output of 725 CFM at 140 MPH, whereas the Worx has a max output of 600 CFM at 110 MPH. It would therefore seem that the Toro would have superior performance, although it looks like the Worx has a slightly longer nozzle, which may enable it to more efficiently apply its power.

@@andrewbraun963 I agree, I bought the Toro today after watching your video. I am very impressed with it. It worked way better than the one I had before. I was able clear my yard in a fraction of the time. For under 60 dollars you just can't beat it. As a homeowner its exactly what I needed. I don't see a need for me to upgrade to a backpack anymore. I ordered the worx online before watching your video. So I'll test it out and let you know what I think and if the longer nozzle makes a difference. Thanks for the reply
