I think it would have gone over better if you had just mentioned specifically by name in that beginning that EGO (widely considered the best in electric outdoor power equipment) refused to send a blower. I have no dog in this fight but EGO being absent makes it hard for me to make a decision personally.

I have it and it's crazy. It's not all the way there on runtime compared to gas but it's definitely commercial grade and usable for such. I can probably blow off around 8-10 yards on a single charge when it's dry with it

I do want a backpack but I think for the cost I will stick with my handheld M18 and ultimately go with a gas option in the $400 range. I tested battery life last year and I believe 12ah was 24 minutes. My buddy has the dual battery M18 and it's very awkward. I'd love to see some other companies recognize the value of a charger like Kress offers. Even though it's very expensive, I don't see many landscapers making the transition to battery with 1-3 hour charge times. If you ran all battery landscaping tools then I could see a need for 15-25 batteries daily. At that point it would be cheaper to buy a $500-800 charger and ~10 batteries. Anything that can charge during a 10 minute lull or lunch break would be a game changer.

You should check out the echo pb-7910 it's within that price range and it's a great blower. It is pretty much the echo pb-9010 without the upgrade to filtration and few other things but it has the same engine which is reliable and makes ton of cfm. I have had my 9010 for a few years now using it commercially so it runs every day and haven't had a single problem just carb tuning as it broke in. The stihl blowers are sweet too I don't think 4mix engine is as reliable as traditional 2 stroke though.

I’ve worked for parks in Washington, haven’t used any of these but I’ve used the stihl bga 100. We get endless leaves in the fall, but for paths, walkways, parking lots, basically any hard surface I’d always choose the electric, it’s just so nice and convenient, and electric tech nowadays is good enough (for hard surfaces only tho) to get most of what you want. The stihl battery lasted a lot longer than i thought (maybe a little bit longer than a full tank of gas) but if you were conservative you could make it last a lot longer. For the average homeowner, electric all the way. Who wants to buy and mix fuel, have problems with the pull cord, the choke, the spark arrestor, the spark plug, the air filter, etc. when you could just pick up the backpack and press a button and have ALMOST the same power but just so much quieter

If you’re blowing thicker layers of leaves in wet grass though, gas is still king

Batteries do a great job at eliminating the inconvenience of a cord. Gasoline however is not an inconvenience. It makes sense if you live in a backwards state and you have no choice. Everyone else needs to wait several years before these become practical tools. It's exciting though and I'm here for the ride. Great channel. I love these tests..... If you read this far... Go buy an Echo PB-9010T and thank me later. If you buy two you'll be able to fly.
