I've worked in 40 degree heat in Toronto before and there was none of this sensationalist BS, just lots of complaining and bad language from everyone you met.

As you burn in your so called "Heat Dome" we are literally freezing in Alberta with another frost Warning for June 17th!! Something is very wrong with our weather.

No such thing as a heat dome. It's called summer. It gets warm in summer sometimes...

Oh Toronto. You always need to be dramatic and feel important. 31C feeling like 40C due to humidity is just a summer heat wave. It is not a heat dome. Heat dome was two years ago in the west. That broke national records, as it was a straight dry 48C. Bit of a 17 degree difference there...

The term " heat dome" was contrived last year it seems, and is being used to create a sense of doom as though there is something unusual about a hot spell.

I’m 70 years old born and raised in Toronto. I’ve lived through many of these in Toronto without AC. Spent my summers at Sunnyside. Fear mongering. Just stop it.

Jet engines criss crossing the globe, tourism, merchandise crossing the globe, otherwise known & referred to as trade. Massive cargo ships spewing exhaust, massive cruise ships doing the same. Do you realize that the Panama Canal operates at less the 1/2 of it’s capability, because of a drought ? That ships cannot pass through it, with the frequency they did when it was built ? ( I just thought i’d throw that fact in.) Short term home rentals displacing permanent domestic residents in favour temporary tourists passing through town. Does anyone see the problem(s) ? Is anyone willing, on either the regulatory side or as a consumer, to look hard at the very real contributing factors ? Heck, God forbid, the tourism industry certainly won’t, politicians seem incapable. Again, it’s idle money unwilling to invest in the country it calls home, where-ever that may be, and stay there long term. Risk adverse. It is real estate investment tapping into the circle of visitor live’s. Whether they be actual legitimate tourists or international students. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t their(the global travellers)fault, or maybe it is. The hangover from the 2008 stock market crash is very much still with us, the hangover from the Gulf War & 911 is still very much with us. The only cure is to stop getting into situations that cause the headache in the first place. Global warming, homelessness, the hoarding of idle cash contributing to nothing but harm, not domestic peace, innovation, productivity or security. Where do you think the extreme right wing politics comes from, and extremist’s for that matter ? Army’s, Navy’s & Airforce’s need petroleum as a necessity. We as consumers do not, we either think we do or, we’ve been foolish enough to believe we do. The addiction is leading to a very real, and now noticeable problem. 🇨🇦✌🏼🇨🇦✌🏼🇨🇦🤨
