Adding Burnes doesn't make this team a contender. The Jays biggest issue is they don't have a great young core and they have no quality depth in the organization. Spending big money on 1 or 2 free agents won't put them over the top. They're just sooo far behind the other teams in the division in major league talent and farm system talent.

Not likely. Soto will be over $40M per year, Burnes likely gets over $30M especially if he pitches well down the stretch. Vlad gets $30M+.

Oakland would never take Bo, since they're not going to compete in 2025 and they're definitely not signing him in free agency. This is real life, not MLB The Show. That trade is also a massive overpay on Oakland's part, since Rooker and Mason are under several years of team control at a cheap salary. No MLB team would allow themselves to be ripped off on such a large scale.
