As a Jamaican living in Canada who also travel to Africa a lot I must say Canada is a beautiful country.. very family oriented. Sometimes all we need to do is to move out of the city and one will get a completely different perspective of this country… if you love what you’re doing, ie you’re own business or profession it’s a chill place to be.. Jamaica is awesome also just need money and not being in the city..one can find peace anywhere they go.
@JamCan6322 Жыл бұрын
Canada is family oriented? And Jamaica just needs money? I'm not sure what family orientation you're talking about. Canada must take in over 1 million immigrants every year because the birth rate is 1.4 children per family. The divorce rate is also one of the highest in the developed world. Rwanda, Burundi, and Sierra Leone murder rate is lower than Jamaica, and they are poorer. So it's not money Jamaica needs. It's leadership that will transform the culture and the mindset of the populace.

@@JamCan6322 wherever you go in this world if you focus on the government you will forever have disappointments. One of the benefits of a diaspora is that you behave as a guest which means don’t get too involved in their politics. This makes life less stressful. Remember no govt or country is perfect. International residents in Jamaica speaks so highly of our island why is that? You speak highly of Rwanda ( which I love the president) but not all do. can you imagine you speaking about political issues in Rwanda??? Nah you are enjoying the country because you don’t make yourself get too deep. With that mindset you can live anywhere on this earth and find peace. We all have to make our own peace.. Canada has so many activities that family can enjoy. The only thing I look forward to is warm weather.. that can be somewhere in Caribbean. Africa. Asia or even American.

@@111pp7 You are partly right. Yes going to a new country as a guest most people don't truly focus on the politics of they nation but that's because from the outside perspective they assume the political situation is stable or they wouldn't be going to that specific country as a guest and potential long term stay. Most people don't make it a habit to seek immigration into chaotic countries. So they'll go where they feel a sense of stability and peace. If said person stays in that particular country longer than a few years they will pay closer attention to the politics because as you can see across many countries immigration is a huge issue and some countries are expelling certain groups of immigrants. So it wouldn't be wise to not take all these things into consideration when seeking a country to reside

Does Toronto have a ‘Right to shelter’ law, as is the case for New York City?
@JamCan6322 Жыл бұрын
Not sure! But we have a lot of homeless people here.
@faithm253511 ай бұрын
@@JamCan6322 ok. If they are still homeless, there may not be a right to shelter law of the sort that is now bankrupting New York City. Essentially, it’s a law that requires the city to provide housing to ANYONE who is homeless and ask for shelter…including hundreds/thousands of illegal migrants that were bussed into the city by the governors of Republican border states.

Well! One does not have to shout be heard. I'm leaving Toronto, but I'm not disparaging it. If you're in Canada and made such comments, those are some of the reasons why I'm leaving. Too much vitriol, and that has become too toxic for me.

Bro, Toronto is a great city. It just depends kn your circle of family and friends. So many different cultures, food to try and things to do. We go to Danforth for some greek, carribean barbershops to get a fade and hear the chatter. It's expensive as hell but it's one of the best cities I've lived in. US major cities aren't as diverse. If all you donis work and stay in your room, everywhere sucks .

@@JamCan6322 if you should chose to discus the toxicity, hope you will include the causative factors, including when it changed from the days when you live it. I suspect that many new immigrants tend to go through a honeymoon phase when they and their families are the ones benefiting for various social services such as good healthcare, schools, sanitation, road infrastructure, etc…things that were build by the hard work of those who lived their in the previous decades. Then as the decades pass, and new immigrants bring in their families, and advocate for refugees to be taken in, or for persons from repressive nations to be granted residency, etc. Eventually, new immigrants who have become longterm citizens find that it’s their turn to work hard and pay the necessary taxes if everyone is to be granted equal access to all the social services and nice environment and infrastructure that are now being used by millions more new comers. Mathematics is always relevant…often more so than good will. I recall when Canada was the place that liberal and intelligent Americans would threaten to move to if Trump was elected POTUS. It’s even the last decent country left on earth in the Handmaids’ Tale TV series. Sad to see an ideal dying because it may have opened its doors too wide, too quickly.
