Perfect DAY in TORONTO, Canada! ❄️ | Things TO DO with 24 Hours in DOWNTOWN Toronto in WINTER 🇨🇦

Today we're going to share our idea of the perfect day in Toronto...in winter! If you watched the previous episode you'll know that I surprised Sam with a Toronto staycation and on Day 2, we set out to explore the city.
We started off the morning with a hearty breakfast at Fran's Restaurant where we ordered French toast, chorizo and hash browns with eggs, and lots of coffee to wake up. This is a really cool eatery with a diner vibe and it was just a few blocks from our hotel.
From there, we walked down to the ferry terminal and crossed over to Ward Island, which is the only of the Toronto Island that is open in the wintertime. The best views of the Toronto skyline are from the Toronto Islands, so this is one place that I always recommend to visitors. We had a fun morning strolling along the beach, walking through a birch forest, and admiring the cottages on the island.
By the time we got back to the city, it was lunch time, so we made our way over to the Distillery District. This is a historic area in the city that houses industrial redbrick buildings from the Victorian Era, which have been converted into cafes, restaurants, art galleries, shops and more. Toronto's Distillery District is a pedestrian-only zone, so it's really fun to walk around, especially in winter when all the Christmas decorations are up. Here we found a Mexican restaurant called El Catrin Distileria where we ordered up tacos with green salsa and ribs with corn and mole sauce.
Later that afternoon, we made our way over to The Porch for some rooftop skating. This is another fun winter activity in Toronto and the best part are the views of the CN Tower and the skyscrapers all around. The rink is made of synthetic ice, so it does take a little getting used to, but we had a good time. They offer skate and helmet rentals at the venue, and it is worth making a reservation as it can get busy. (As a heads up, if you bring your own skates, make sure you also bring a helmet or you'll get charged the rental fee!)
Lastly, we ended our day in Toronto back at our hotel, where we ordered some room service and watched TV. Is there a better way to end a busy day of sightseeing than with truffle fries and a pizza? I think not!

My dad lives there :) I live an hour east of toronto and have been going there since I was 8 years old. Being from a small town, it's always fun to take the buses and trains to navigate the city. I have a lot of very fond memories going out to the island. So many geese and swans and ducks to feed 😂

I visited Canada from Scotland for our honeymoon last year and I swear I live through your videos! I left a piece of my heart there and can’t wait to go back :) We managed to cram in a lot of places in 2 weeks but only had 24 hours in Toronto so I will definitely be going back when I can! Si alguien me pregunta por unas vacaciones perfectas: contesto sin dudar: una ciudad , nada de mar o montaña, a mi me gustan las ciudades ! Asi que ni se imaginan cuanto disfrute mirándolos. When you guys introduced Toronto skyline, I was't sure I should I visit Island to see skyline ...I decide to see the skyline. supplizingly ferry fare was so cheap and it was well worth invest ( I believe $ 6 or $7) to cross the bay and back. I always thought NYC skyline, from South Ferry to Staten Island is the best, and no other country would match that ! HELL NO ! , TRONTO SKYLINE was equally beautiful or better. it is beautiful skyline. TRONTO ... amazing on the street is that many other big city has bicycle lane also, though I have'nt seen any bicycle traffic light in any other cities . TORONTO has BICYCLE TRAFFIC LIGHT !!! The View from the CN Tower was as if you are looking down from the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. night view was worth to wait for 4 hours .

One of my TO friends formerly lived on the mainland just across the channel from Billy Bishop Airport, and her child went to the elementary school on the west end of the island. She had a bike with a "kid trailer" that she would ride to the Ward's Island ferry terminal, and buses would take the students from the island side to the school. If the harbor was frozen over, the kids would get on the bus on the mainland side at the Bishop Airport ferry, cut across into the airport, where the buses would wait until air traffic control would clear them to drive through the airport to get to the school!

And I loved this Xmas atmosphere we find in northern countries, it is sure something different from what we find in Brazil, since now it is mostly hot and rainy 😄. I loved this distillery district, never have I heard about it before.

The Distillery District is one of our favourite spots in the city. It's so pretty with all the Christmas decorations and a lot of fun when the Christmas Market is up and running.
