I'm still annoyed the week Revs played Miami he didn't review any of the no calls. Miami last defender American Football tackled Nacho Gil and no foul was called. Shoulder in ribs and hands wrapped around the knee. It was fucked and was the players 4th time in 16 minutes bringing Nacho Gil down. The towards the end of the game Miami grabbed Vrioni from behind pulled him to the ground and laid on top of him until a Miami teammate could get the ball. Ref didn't call anything and it lead to a Miami goal.

Here’s the problem I have here. Should definitely have been a penalty on Acosta. However 3 weeks ago Klauss BODIES Willy Agada significantly harder and you say it’s a good shoulder to shoulder but Acosta with a shove is not a foul in your eyes? Andrew you’re as consistent as the refs are. It almost feels like part of the new PRO negotiation was that the MLS have to agree with the calls?
@ianbrudnakvoss31267 ай бұрын
You can't seriously compare this Acosta foul with the Klauss call. Lucho tangles his legs with Matan but crucially leaves his feet to do so. Klauss just used his body, the only real problem there is that he wasn't really playing the ball--and neither was Lucho. In fairness Kubo was fouled before the Crew's goal, so it's really just down to the ref letting them play since it's a derby, much like in Mizzou
@ravijammalamadaka60297 ай бұрын
It's not about the force. It's about the intent to play the ball and where the contact is. Klauss didn't leave his feet and have the most awkward and dumb-looking dive of all time. Lucho left his feet, completely missed the ball and rammed into the crew defender. Clear pk.

@takisback7 ай бұрын
I can't stand the back and forth Wiebe will go for defending or disagreeing with shoulder to shoulder contact though. You don't have to play the ball in shoulder to shoulder contact. Acosta is a super short dude so shoulder to shoulder is a bit hard to call with him. I could see it going both ways but I can't stand how dead sure Wiebe is on these. You can't have it both ways. Either require them to play the ball, or all shoulder to shoulder contact is always fine. Same with his definition of handballs. The latter probably not his fault. The league needs better direction on handball rulings.
@MrCho147 ай бұрын
@@takisback He's really stuck on shoulder to shoulder like a U14 rec coach who heard it once and now thinks it's never a foul if they are shoulder to shoulder. There are a lot of factors including force and actually playing the ball which matter.

I also think the Seattle player is blocking the goal tenders view of the ball, which should result in the offsides call, according to the rules, an offside player can not interfere with the goaltender.
@rockinmel17 ай бұрын
But he wasn't offside. Crepeau would have actually saved that shot if his own player (standing beside Morris, not behind him) had not deflected it. So Morris not only didn't block the goalie's vision on the original shot, but he *definitely* didn't block his view of the deflection. VAR, with multiple angles at their disposal, checked it thoroughly (Chapman held the kickoff for the check) and called it a good goal.
@DukeTrout7 ай бұрын
@@rockinmel1 The replay during the game showed there was no deflection, so I’m not sure what you’re talking about. The view from the goal shows that the ball passes close to Morris and a couple feet away from the only Timbers player it could have deflected off of, Kamal Miller (4).
@rockinmel17 ай бұрын
@@DukeTrout You mean you're not sure what everyone was talking about. Everyone agreed the ball had movement across the box and you can see it in the replays, maybe it was spin + turf, but Crepeau had it tracked until he didn't, and the ball went from heading right down the middle to suddenly going into the corner.
@DukeTrout7 ай бұрын
@@rockinmel1So, wait a second. You admit that Morris was both in an offside position and that he screened Crepeau’s view of the initial shot? Then that’s all that’s required for offside. @rockinmel17 ай бұрын
I have never seen a referee signal more players to get up or make the "dive" gesture more times than Allen Chapman did in Portland. Weirdly, the match never got dangerous, which might be due to those signals - when a ref just ignores those incidents they seem to indicate to players that they can go a little further next time, but in effectively showing that he DID see them, he kept the match in check.
@lukeharper89267 ай бұрын
It got a little heated with Nouhou and Mosquera in the 55th minute. Chapman showed yellow to Nouhou which I thought was a bit unfair. I felt like a yellow to both would have made more sense. Overall, I feel like Chapman let way too many fouls go in this game for both teams. I think the match stayed in check only because it was never more than a one goal lead and both teams really needed this win. If the lead ever extended to two or three goals, I think things would have gotten out of hand quickly.
@DukeTrout7 ай бұрын
The missed yellow there was Jordan Morris, who instigated the bad feelings there. He grabbed and shoved Mosquera before the Nouhou-Mosquera conflict.
@rockinmel17 ай бұрын
@@DukeTrout I wouldn't say "missed." It happened right in front of the fourth official. There are "afters" in every match, and there's going to be either one card to the player whose behavior "stands out" the most or one to a player from each club. Ref doesn't go around handing out cards to everyone who has a grab or shove.
@wolffriendinus7 ай бұрын
honestly I'm surprised it didn't get dangerous. We go into these matches expecting a lot of contact, possibly for someone from one or both teams to get a red card (can you say red card wedding lol), or for something bad to happen. We'll see what happens in the next match.
@rockinmel17 ай бұрын
@@wolffriendinus The issue with the "Red Card Wedding" match was a USL center ref that was far over his head in an MLS derby match situation. Daniel Radford never did get a job as a CR in MLS, and made a few highly-publicized mistakes as a VAR official before moving to management in US youth soccer this year (the Dilbert Principle at work). On the other hand, Allen Chapman is generally good at managing a tough match (although not so good at making sure shootout rules are properly enforced...)

Dude you made so many mistakes in this one. 1) The handball that is supposedly stopping a centering ball is NO HANDBALL. The arm is there in a NATURAL POSITION while running. So no PK. Then, you used this argument @5:20 for a no-call. LOL It is a no-call in BOTH cases. 2) As for that big lob pass and the offside given, again, no. It was a perfect goal. No offside. The defender was NOT moving towards the ball, he was tens of meters away, with no chance of playing the ball, the collision was intentional and ultra fake, the defender fell down like a snowflake all while he had so much time to go around the attacker and the attacker wasn't even blocking him. Sorry, it's a good goal. 3) The supposed offside with the player being in the line of sight of the GoalKeeper. Even in this camera angle, the attacker is CLEARLY offside. Though, he is far away from the keeper, so this is not an offside call. He is CLEARLY in an offside position but also literally 15 meters away, so it is still a goal. This wasn't a good day for you, mate!

@Gamercatsus I know what they whistled. I wrote that the fall was exaggerated not to imply it was a whistle for a foul, but to say that it was intentional by the defender to get an offside call.
