The plane you saw landing (from the CN Tower) at the city airport called Billy Bishop airport originally started as a military training base during world war 2. It started operating passenger aircrafts from 2006 under the name Porter Airways mostly using propeller aircrafts and connects most of the Canadian cities with each other and also most east coast airports of USA. it is very nice to fly to US with this Porter airways as the airport is situated in the city. Till recently a ferry will take you to the airport terminal. It is a nice experienc. But now they have built a tunnel under the lake and a elevator takes you to the tunnel. Next time you can take this plane to go to the US. You only have aisle or window seats in these planes . No middle seats which is very nice.
