Fantastic video mate. Pretty cool to see how even this far out of Downtown Toronto there's still tall buildings dotting the skyline. I personally find the shadow pavement markings easier to see than the oreo ones lol. I've heard bumper to bumper traffic on the 407 is practically unheard of thanks to the tolls, even in peak hour...

I appreciate it! We can't have you disrespecting the Oreo style pavement markings though... Haha kidding but yeah it definitely wouldn't be worth the ~$0.50/km if it were bumper to bumper during the peak hours.

Great work on the video. Taking a wrong turn on the 407 is an expensive mistake. I appreciate watching videos from someone who understands and appreciates highway engineering. One day, the 407 will be surfaced with asphalt, like all of Ontario's other highways. That will be a sad day in my book.

Thank you! Yeah I wasn't even aware of the camera charge before seeing the toll breakdown in the bill. The yet to be overlaid concrete pavement of the 407 definitely sets it apart from the rest. Hopefully the 401 will get upgraded with more concrete sections when that happens

Hey, Edward, did you get and use the 407 transponder to pay tolls? What's it like paying high tolls of the 407 in your experience?

Nope, got on the highway with just my Michigan license plate. I don't get to drive the 407 often enough to make it balance out the cost of ordering a transponder. Plus, I'm not sure if they ship those internationally. Being able to drive it on a weekend morning, with the lower toll rates, wasn't actually that bad in my opinion. My only complaint was the double camera charge which was completely my fault.

@@EdwardW98, for the Ontario license plate, tolls are as normal. For other Canadian provincial and territorial license plates and US state license plates, I don't know.
