Instead of 9, there should be 10 reasons for auto fail and the 10th but most important mistake is lack of self confidence which can be avoided by having enough practice before going for driving test.

@@JJRothS2011 I have the same situation here, but I try to at least save a bit of money to get a lesson when I can. One lesson at the driving school I'm getting practice from is like $139 I think? The first time I went, I paid almost $300 for 2 lessons... 2! 😭 I don't really have anybody to teach me so... But I've had a bit of practice from using my boyfriend's car (when it was working) and... I know it's weird... I go to places that have go karts cause they kinda help with learning too even though it's not the same as driving an actual car.

I haven't failed any road tests, including emergency vehicle road test. But here are some of the bad things I did, what I did right and what saved me from failure. G-test, or class 5 in Montreal: 1) drifting Simply said sorry and smiled to the examiner, it was summer and I controlled it well, do that in winter and be ready to meet someone else's car or garage door, especially in the car I was in. 2) speed, examiners don't want you driving at 60km/h, max 10 under speed limit, not for more than a few seconds, I drove at 45-50 so no big deal. 3) say what you're supposed to be doing out loud, and accept mistakes examiners say you did even if you didn't, examiners love it when you know what to do, and test your ability to develop as a driver by telling you mistakes you didn't do and say you will work on them ( I sound fishy, lol.) 4) parallel parking, the corner stone of exam failures, did I fail it? Yup, did I know why I failed it, not until much later, how did I save myself? Told the examiner that I wasn't used to the dimensions of this car, it was true and not only that, I didn't cause any dangers to people around me, didn't hit any cars, etc. 5) Yellow lights, I'm already driving 40-50, so no chance to run the yellow, unless I'm at the staight line, knowing it's illegal to stay inside the intersection square, I'm not stopping. List could go on...

I have failed a test due to improper braking and acceleration. I have been driving back in my country for nearly 12 years, and with my kids, too. Nobody has told this to me. I was shocked when it was announced that I failed in the test for this reason. So embarassing.. It was raining during the test and some parts of the road had puddles. Also another reason given to me was, when taking a left turn, I cut the line once. I believe sometimes its about how rational your examiner is. All the best to all those taking the test. Practice practice practice. That's all!

I remember when I did my G2 test. At the very end, I had to reverse park and I hit the curb while backing up. I thought that was why I were to fail my test. In the end, I didn’t and the instructor gave me feedback to keep checking my blind spots. That was my only wrong in the test. Also, I passed G2 with confidence. I was way more excited than nervous. I feel like that helped me more in the situation. :)

Today was my G test. I failed only because I was feeling nervous. I didn’t make any mistakes as such. It was raining and traffic was bit slow and foggy on the highway. So I had to use breaks to slow down. This made me fail as I should go with whatever the traffic is and shouldn’t go much on breaks but just leave the accelerator. So be not nervous is the first lesson and don’t use unnecessary breaks on highway to slow down just come out of gas pedal.

Yes mine was one of this reason , the main reason was busy traffic and cars in right lane did not let me to change lane for about 2 lights, even i kept my turn signal on, finally i increased speed to go in and then car honked at me - and examiner intervened to prevent it. Was automatic fail. It for advance road test , its challenging more than i thought.

@@TorontoDrivers I needed some advice from you. I live in Montreal. I did not have any driving exp before coming to canada. It took me 5 attempts to clear the QC knowledge test which was very demotivating. I have failed my driving test twice (both at Henri Borussa which is generally considered quite strict) and have my third attempt in Feb. After diligently following all the driving rules, making notes, taking enough pratice classes, watching numerous driving videos, I still make mistakes. I do not how I get better even after devoting my 100%. I feel I get a bit anxious and thats the reason I make mistakes. Do you have any suggestions to get over it.

@@dylanfernandes342 Montréal SAAQ Dorval first time pass here, 1) give yourself a break, 2) give yourself a break 3) ok, I won't troll, the reason you need to give yourself a break is because, the more you are focusing on driving, the harder driving is, and mistakes are bound to happen, think as a 4A licence holder I don't make mistakes? I still do, for example not going at the far most lane while doing U-turns, or not honking at dreamy pedestrians crossing in front of an Econoline going at 40km/h, slowing down to change lanes, driving too slowly before merging on an highway (that nearly got me hit by a truck), coming too far from a no lane road with a vehicle with no C pillars, giving my blind side (still an Econoline) to a truck (really bad move in an emergency). So yeah, mistakes are bound to happen, if you're having difficulty parking, that's another story, if you want advanced knowledge on driving, that's also another story, if you want the story on my driving tests, which was full instant failure mistakes, and how I managed to pass first try still, try looking in community or at my other comments on the channel.

Failed on my road test this month, Mistakes: 1. Theres a guy try crossing the road, theres no pedestrian lane but i stop and let him cross. The examiner told me you should not stop because theres no pedestrian lane there. Im trying to find the rules about that but cant find anything. Can u explain it to me? 2. Rolling stop Examiner told me turn right and its on red light. I thought what i did is full stop, so he ask me the rules about that and I answered it. And he ask me again do u think its a full stop for you? But when i watched your video today, i understand now that what i did is rolling stop. 3. Uphill parking with curb On that curb theres a big snow bank, examiner told me park on that side. I parked but after that he told me i failed you there because youre not too close on that curb. So im confused now how much distance should be? Especially theres a snow bank and im too scared. Hope you read my message. Thank you for making videos. ❤️

For all those who gonna take their drive test and got cancelled due to this pandemic, it might be a good chance to keep practising. Practice everything until it's second nature to you, cuz it's all about muscle memory. When your test comes, it will be almost nothing to you and your nervousness will be little. Trust me on this, I did practice everything over and over until I got sick and tired of it but hey, it paid off and I passed my G. Good luck to all of you ^_^

@@kiril1 doesn't stop you from practicing, you don't need a car to practice driving, trust me. I learned to parallel park a pickup truck, without ever touching the pick-up truck, until they made me patrol with a pickup, with a huge blind spot/side, first try perfect parallel. Pickup was a 2008 Ford, 920° steering lock. To be good at driving, you have to understand driving, once you understand driving, you'd be surprised to see how you come up with driving techniques and solutions on your own and on the fly. Example, how to make a turn smaller/tighter? Turn the steering wheel more, what about high speed? You need less steering at high speeds. How do you control traction loss? If you lose traction, do weight transfer. What if my wheels spin? Put it in a lower gear, you'd get unstuck easier, or put your traction control on. Etc.

Passed on my first try for my G. I sort of came to a rolling stop at a stop sign but the examiner must not have caught it. They also gave me wrong information on where to merge on to the highway and I asked to clarify at the risk of sounding combative. I was right, he made a joke and we both chuckled. Lightened the mood. I also clocked myself going 105 when getting on the highway. They didn't mention it. I was very nervous because there is so much construction on Hurontario, a lot of foot traffic in the area and the 401 is always a parking lot. That particular day it wasn't. THERE IS AN EXTENSION ON THEIR REVISED ROAD TEST THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO END IN MARCH. I WENT TO THE MISSISSAUGA LOCATION AND DIIDNT HAVE TO PARELLEL PARK, EMERGENCY STOP OR REVERSE PARKING.

If he wasn't in the ambulance's way, there's no need to stop, dude is going 65+ km/h, he's not gonna cross you unless he has at least 6 m, especially on emergencies, all emergency vehicles leave at least 3 seconds on each side on average, so there's no way the ambulance would brake in front of your co-test taker. I know because I have an emergency vehicle license myself. That was a bad forced failure.

I failed because of being overcautious. As I was approaching a green signal from a little distance I saw the timer going 3..2..1... Wary of running the soon to turn Yellow light, I slowed to a stop as the light turned Yellow. Examiner screamed You should have crossed. I have a strong feeling she'd've failed me had I proceeded too. Timer at near 1 second is really a tricky situation.. Doomed if you do, doomed if you don't!

@@chrismarlatt1345 It's not that simple. I know a guy who failed as the light turned yellow right after he entered the intersection. The examiner shouted at him for not seeing the timer to gauge it was about to go yellow and thus prepare to stop. There are factors (even if minor) beyond one's control that may cause one to fail. The traffic situation, behaviour of drivers around you, examiner's mood (they are humans) are some of the little nagging issues that on a bad day can ruin your prospects.

@XoGabeyy I live in Canada so I’m not sure if my advice fits but, make sure you always use the parking brake when you park the vehicle. Point your tires in the correct possession on hills to roll off the road/into a curb in the event the vehicle starts moving when it shouldn’t. Also exaggerate your shoulder checks before and during lane changes/going around corners. Also do 360 checks even when you think it’s pointless. To answer your question tho, I failed my test due to these little things + he didn’t like a few little things to do with the old truck I used Edit: this is my second attempt, hopefully third times the charm. I wish you the best of luck on your test

I failed because...I passed someone who was parallel parking, driving down the middle of the street when there were cars parked along the right side, and stopping at a stop sign to close to the intersection because I didn't see the white line due to all of the wet leaves on the ground.

During lane change my blind spot monitor system started dinging .. then I speeded up and at the same time the examiner told to speed up. This was the reason she failed me. However the situation was very tricky there were lot of cars standing at traffic and when it turned green and traffic started moving she asked to do lane change. What is the best in this situation?

Sir I have been watching videos on Parallel parking and reverse parking but I still am struggling with it when I go for my Training and my instructor does tell me and yells if I get those wrong I am good with front parking though are there any other tips on how to learn these? Also there are times when my instructor has to intervene when I am leaning in car it most happens when the roads are curve so are there any videos where I can learn how properly maneuver the car when this happens sir?

Hi Neil! You had mentioned in a text earlier that this is your 4th instructor. Changing too many instructors is also not advisable. Sometimes we as learners could be making repeated mistakes which causes some instructors to lose their patience. So I would recommend asking your instructor what your core areas of improvement are and then work with him on those. The students I liked teaching the most as an instructor were the ones who took great interest in learning and were inquisitive.

I failed for not waiting for enough cars to pass when turning right like at 6:20 I saw a gap and took it but it looks like I didn’t wait long enough. I waited for 5 or 6 cars to pass but I guess that was not enough. Be patient and wait for all cars to pass but I don’t know if the cars would ever all clear it was a tricky situation. Also NEVER tell them you are nervous! If they ask say no or they will try their best to fail. The person also got mad at me for clicking done when signing my name in the box which is dumb

It's a judgement call, rule of thumb: don't confuse others. It is advisable to put it before you reach the dashed lines, EVEN when there are no cars, this saved me at least 4 accidents from the 3 last consecutive days. If your blinker stays on too long, people will just pass you. Not enough, you get into a crash.

Hello! I have a question. Should I wait till both lanes are clear before making a right on red.. a lot of people are saying no, but others say yes turn right when only that lane is clear. But I’ve had instances where the people in the left have swerved mid intersection into the lane I’m trying to turn into..? What do I do

braking and crossing the yellow light is a law violation and this is when police officers pull you over and give a ticket. And you can not fight it in the court. It is also an automatic fail in a test. Braking at a yellow light means you are hesitant and you don't know what to do.

Going in for my 2nd G2 road test tomorrow. Failed my first one for the following: We were coming up to a fairly busy street-3 lanes going each way, separated by a median. This was one of those intersections with the little triangle islands for right turns, and I was turning right. Traffic was flowing well, nothing crazy, no accidents, quite smooth, but obviously anything can change (spoilers: it didn't). Anyways, I saw one car coming from the other side of the intersection turn right, so I crept up a bit. Then the car behind that also turned right, leaving a decent gap for me to merge into. So I merged. That's what failed me. Not waiting until AAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the cars were done and gone before moving on was what failed me; gotta wait for every single car to be totally gone, apparently.

Let the vehicle straight ahead of you go first, then assess the situation. If the light is still green, the way is still clear (no oncoming traffic, pedestrians, bikes, etc.), and it is safe to do so, make your left turn.
