That one so called province which has never shown that they are a part of Canada in my lifetime has proven to be the spoiled child of confederation ever since the sixties, and especially since the "October Crisis" of 1971 and the FLQ along with the first separation referendum following election of the Parti Quebecois a couple years later. That one province so much as whimpers about being ignored by the federal government and that government is right there to give them everything plus more that they whine for, meanwhile the rest of the provinces can be screaming blue bloody murder and get totally ignored by the feds of both the lieberal and the old PC party in the eighties. Time for the province of Quebec must lose their privileged position in confederation and in the federal government and be forced to live as equals with the rest of Canada, or be kicked out with no more than what they had prior to confederation which means just that narrow strip of land along the St Lawrence River with the remainder of the provincial land they've claimed since then remaining as Canadian territory for the FN and the english residents of Quebec and the Francophones losing all rights as Canadian citizens and all of our national investment in that one area no Canadian dollar, nor Canadian Forces membership form their own currency and military. Either that or the west will leave and they'll still lose the equalization transfers from us which they've been the biggest recipients of those funds to the tune of nearly $13billion per year since the seventies when the first TurdDough created that funding for the so called have not provinces.

Worst thing is how pervasive and inflationary the carbon tax is. It's not just what you put in your car or use to heat your house. Everything from a sheet of plywood to a bag of apples has to be moved, produced or processed using gas or diesel, and is taxed, often many times over. It even affects property taxes! Road and sewer repairs, new construction, snow clearing, etc... it's all done with heavy equipment running on diesel. And so, up go property taxes too!

Poilievre didn't turn it around, the cost did. It's easy to be liberal when someone else is paying for your ideals. When it costs YOU though... suddenly the ideals are very negotiable. Just look at the "sanctuary cities" in the States having to accept migrants. Not so idealistic any more.

Canada posted me to Soest West Germany in 1964 for a three year 1000 plus day war to 1967 I was a CAB of the QOR in a war torn foreign land we were not permitted any weapons combat was always had to hand. I attended the Axe the tax rally in Redmonton 2 days ago. The Expo Hall was packed. Attendees were about 20% retirees and most of the rest were the "boots and hammer" crowd, mostly working people. There wasn't a topic that Pierre Poilievre didn't touch on. Anything less than a CPC majority will result in another Liberal-ND-Bloc gov't.

You guys-the TO SUN, need to look into to why the gasoline prices are so high to begin with, considering crude is only at around $83. Do you guys recall many years ago when I think it was Harper got a CEO from an oil company( I think he was from Imperial Oil) to explain the pricing relationship. The CEO said their pricing structure was they try to keep gasoline prices inline with oil prices and said if the oil price is $100/barrel then gasoline would be $1/liter. So what happened to that math by the oil companies, seems it has changed quite a lot-as in going up. Maybe the TO SUN should check into this.

Maybe you should educate yourself. There are dozens of web sites that explain the retail cost of gasoline. These issues come up every fecking year. For the past fifty years, people like you get their knickers in a wad about retail gas prices. Figure it out.

I couldn't care less about the taxes on alcohol. It's a non essential. Taxing the necessities of life is another matter entirely. As for corporations using the increase to hide price gouging, it's just plain unethical. But then, so are most of the taxes we pay. We know our tax dollars don't go where they are supposed to go.
