It makes your job pretty easy when their previous model was already in the top spot, but hey I'll take it. The Mac Tools got the shaft with its spec rating and price on the main list, but it's a stand-out if you ask me. We don't share what videos we're making with ANY brand including Astro, and receive no compensation, incentives or employment based on showing tools or sales figures tied to any one brand, but there's bias that's irremovable when talking about a tool you've yourself worked on. So it's worth mentioning.

@@TorqueTestChannelMy boss pointed this out to me. This selector style works incredibly well for tire work. You want full reverse to get the nuts off, but low forward to not over tighten before torquing to spec. You can leave the power selector alone because it changes with direction. I agree that this feature/flaw should and could be communicated better. Big fan of the channel btw

I have the 36QMAX and same thing; however, more interestingly, I also have a 2135QXPA and… same thing! In reverse it spins faster and hammers harder on “low” power on the dial. Truly bizarre. Wondering if this is the case with all IRs with this dial design.

Was thrilled to see the 1822v2 get a workout among its competitors. Since our last correspondence about visual cues to confirm the 1822v2 is the v2, (reason being, the seal on th box had been opened and the label on the tool was still the original non-v2 label) I have truly enjoyed using it as often as I can. I have only needed to use my 1894 twice and that was because it was new. There is something special about a tool living up to and exceeding expectations, it adds a bit of fulfillment during a busy tough day. Thank you again for all you do and for the insightful, practical upgrades made on this impact. Keep up the great work and I’ll keep watching and telling everyone I run across to check it out! Mark.

On the IR the power dial controls only the forward side of the motor, and does so by bleeding air pressure before the air enters the motor. Possibly what is happening is that the air bleed on the forward side of the motor being bigger allows for more flow on the exhaust side of the motor when it's running in reverse. An odd quirk of of the IR's power dial.

As I talked with TTC about the Chicago CP7732C, the tool is good but has flaws. After 3 years of relatively big abuse it started to have some issues, somethimes being stuck between 2 vannes and air just not spinning the motor (it was happening very too often to my liking) and sounding off time to time, then 2 months after it seized the selector. I had to take it appart to clean it and since then, it down like 30% power it struggles to take lug nuts off. Good tool for light duty or house, not good enough to make a living off. Im happy TTC made this video I will choose my next one

@patrick188
@patrick188 2 жыл бұрын
The power regulator on the IR is not meant to work in reverse. The only reason it slightly improves performance in reverse when put in low is that it increases what is called secondary exhaust, which is what allows the non-operating side of the motor to exhaust so that it's not recompressing air.

Great video, as always! I have the Facom version(?) of the Mac, the NS.1600F, so I was especially interested to see the results. Advertised torque of the Facom is 860Nm. It's a great little stubby impact wrench, very powerful for it's size. The price in Europe is much lower for these (compared to the Mac price). Bought it for approx. 170 euros from official local dealer. Would love to see a test of the Facom NS.3500G (theoretical torque 1,898Nm but it's not so powerful) or it's Mac equivalent, too.

If you look closely, the anvil has “run-out” or “walk” if you will. This could be due to wear, but unsure. Perhaps anvil travel is a contributor to the wrist-breaking score? Maybe more visible under high speed camera.

I love this channel I really do but I have to say on the Flexzilla gun I have owned many of these exact models they are awesome guns but if you're not using their high-flow fittings you're basically handicapped in the gun before you've even hooked air to it if you would use the actual Flexzilla hi-flow fittings or some equivalent it really wakes this gun up. I serviced heavy equipment and Road tractors and I personally have broken many lug nuts loose that were torque to 450 to 500 foot pounds of torque so I would just like to see this gun with its actual high flow fitting just to see how it does

@@TorqueTestChannel comment rescinded well I kind of feel like the original ones which were the ones I had or better and then they lessen the quality down to the price point even when I bought mine I kind of felt like they were under priced and overbuilt I personally haven't used one in a few years I know the original ones were a beast

I love your ranking by power, but I would like to see a subjective ramkinf by durability, if you own it start dropping them off ladders project farm style. I would watch a 1 hour episode of you dropping tools to show us how durable they are!!!

Snap on make a compact now, still like $500 but would be interesting to see how all the major tool trucks stack up against each other.

I am going to try putting my IR in low and see how it does! Like you said, never even thought about it, just set the gun and go! How...intuitive...or not? 😂

My godfather worked for Stanley/Dewalt/Black and Decker for a while and I ended up getting alot of display Proto air tools free. No one believes me that they are beasts. And the only real downfall on the stubby was the price. Well mine was free so it's no.1 for sure. Mine is a 3/8 but it's the same gun.
