The SKIL is trolling us right now with the KIT being $69 amzn.to/44pSrYy which is less than a 2Ah Ridgid battery from Home Depot. If you have tasks that require speed, their new RA Impact wrench should be the hottest kid in town though mixed with the most torque. Nice bit of kit. I think a big consideration should be ergonomics. I've got the Milwaukee M12, and having the battery in the handle not only gives it good balance, but allows you to get in some pretty tight spaces. While I haven't used the other ones tested, battery placement definitely seems like it should be a consideration given what this type of tool is designed for.
@annihilator4000 Жыл бұрын
This is actually exactly why I have a mix of M12 and Dewalt 12v. For certain tools like a rachet I prefer the battery in the handle and won't use the bigger batteries because they mess up the ergonomics. But on some of the other tools such as a standard drill or impact I prefer the standard dewalt 12v ergonomics.

Really think that you should also include what the warranty and serviceability of the tool is in your ratings, especially in this day and age of disposable items. A life time warranty is definitely a plus.
@MrMega200 Жыл бұрын
Well that wouldn't be an exact score as it's all different person to person. How good do you rate a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 year, etc warranty without a bias? It's too subjective. A warranty length doesn't mean anything about a tool's durability. They can make the quality of the tool however they like. On the other side of it, just because they say 10 years doesn't mean they will act on it.

Agreed, I would love for SKIL to come out with 1/4” square drive version of the RI574501, or for Dewalt to come out with a 20v or for Kobalt to come out with a 24v(my current battery platforms) tool that was a serious attempt at a right angle impact driver/wrench, just with a 1/4” square drive, instead of the 1/4” hex collet, something onto which you could directly install 1/4” sockets with no adapters required keeping it truly compact. A reactionless impact tool with the same or more power then the SKIL, the same size or smaller then the SKIL, (I have a hard time believing this isn’t possible) Such a tool would make IMO make powered ratchets(air & cordless) obsolete as they are faster, more powerful, while being just as compact. The SKIL could likely run the TTC Guantlet that the ratchets run faster than the ratchets do, while making more torque on the TTC dyno.

Another great vid :) I think the impact *driver* comparison of the Skil to the Ridgid may be slightly flawed since max. torque is really not what you're looking for with an impact driver, it's more *speed* you're looking for, no? Because they're typically being used to drive smaller diameter screws into wood or metal, speed is more a useful indicator of how they perform. As for the wrench, once the Ridgid comes on sale/promo, perhaps I'll get that and sell off my lightly used M12 heh. Still wish they'd brought this out years ago--guess better late than never!

What about the Ingersoll Rand 20V Cordless Right Angle Impact Wrench W5330? You love the huge IR but don’t seem to test many of their products. For those of us that own the IR 20v batteries, would love to see more of them tested. Thanks

Weird timing for that comment being our LAST video was their latest impact :D

@@TorqueTestChannel I’ve probably even seen the video, but am I paying attention? Thanks

I am tempted to move from Dewalt 12v to m12, but cant because have invested in 12v line with tons of batteries. Dewalt better come out with the 12v Right Angle Impact Wrench, 12v screw driver or 12v Impact Driver by 2024, else i am switching over.

Can you test the right angle impact wrenches against the ratchets? I'd like to see how that high speed Rigid compares to some of the ratchets.

Any reason Makita was not included? Or have you tested that before? Edit: NVM, Makita only seems to make a 3/8” wrench that shares design with the impact driver that was tested.

You can see it on there 3:38

What about DeWalts right angle ratchet. I just got one for fathers day. I'd like a right angle impact. Those are sick!

have you ever tested the ingersoll rand right angle cordless impact?

Would love to see right angle drills, including the new flex right angle drill/hole saw

The right hand hex head bolt on the test jig is quite loose. How is that altering the results of the current tests vs the previous tests?
@TorqueTestChannel Жыл бұрын
Both bolts are located in a "loose" thread position. They only exist so the plate doesn't fall off when we change out the center test bolt that does all the measuring.

Would be great to see you test the Astro Nano Max, air angle grinders and air ratchets
@B0BBYGAMER Жыл бұрын
Pretty sure the astro nano v2 is #1 electric really lags behind on these right angle impacts I had the m18 was really gutless so I sold it and got the m12 better but the nano v2 destroys it

Can you test how lubricating fasteners effects the torque. I got some customers who love using antiseize on lug threads snd dont understand why they snap wheel studs. Wet brake clean, loctite, would also be an interesting one to see also.
@algorithmae Жыл бұрын
I love using anti-seize on almost everything, but I also drop the torque by 10% to get the same clamping force

Did you forget about the Ingersoll Rand W5330?

Old n weak :(

Maybe try a right angle adapter on a normal impact driver for comparison
