It is a high school production, so don't expect a Broadway performance. The kids obviously worked hard on it and even though the vocals could use some more work, they did a good job. They went for it and were all in, even if they probably knew the vocals weren't always where they should have been. That is to be applauded.

Giving some positive vibes here: this is absolutely amazing, I’m a person who grew up on Shrek, and the people playing Shrek and Donkey almost got the voices perfect! Lord farquad (or however you spell it) was played as well as it could since the person was on their knees the entire time. Also the scene where the characters had to go into the swamp, that dance number was amazing! Edit: and yes I know I’m a *few* years late

I don't want to be so overly judgmental, but many of the actors/actresses in the show missed lines or cues, and the mics were definitely on heat. And there was such a lack of energy, it seemed, like no one really wanted to be there. The Shrek was pretty good, he seemed reminiscent of Brian d'Arcy James, but other harmonies seemed so forced and shaky.

okay so for people saying everyone's being rude this is where I'm coming from. Before we even started blocking everyone was off book. Our leads all have strong voices and we spend so much time and effort to try to make our sets look good. and we're not an arts school or anything. we're a public school where the school only has about 550 kids in total. we took everyone who auditioned and we still only have a cast of like 35. so when a school claims to be the best version and I see that my tiny school is better than it I'm disappointed. our directors would be mad at us if we performed like this during muck throughs. THATS why I say this version isn't good. they tried their hardest, but you can tell that a lot of the cast didn't put 100% in to their performance

Allison Garippo I understand what you’re saying!! I go to a public school but we had very strong actors. Our Shreks voice was on point and our coach was very hard on us to have an amazing show. It was hard work but we had a fantastic show and an amazing turn out for each performance. It takes a lot of hard work to be the best, and I’m not saying that my school is, but one thing this show needed was more characterization and ability to tell the story.

when the kid shouted ‘no more’ that represents most the people commenting tbh😂 i think this is really good, sure some of the lines are shaky, but i love donkey, shrek and especially lord f. he’s such a joy to watch, he has natural talent. i also think shrek was really good, especially when he improvised about falling over. also, DRAGON IS SO UNDER APPRECIATED. SHES SO TALENTED AND THE ACTUAL DRAGON COSTUME - Y E S ALSO ALSO ALSO donkey was awesome! i understand loads of people said that but he is genuinely amazing! i could go on about everyone else but i won’t. have a nice day :)

Love this so much! Can't stop singing the songs, Shrek was just incredible, he has such a good Shrek voice, and his singing was just amazing. And don't even get me started on Fiona, she was just amazing. And I LOVE the dragon she has a beautiful voice, and good job to all the other people like Donkey, the 3 blind mice ect...
