If you think those are something, try the Torres 20 and Torres Jaime I 30 year old versions. The Torres brandies are unique in using the non-sherried barrels. They are quite richer than equivalent Cognac and I agree with commenter below that they lean heavily on the sweeter side due to added caramel (though Cognac is not faultless in that regard). I like that profile, however, as a nice change of pace. As for the rest of your Torres 15, pour it into a jar with 1/4 cup sugar or Stevia and add 1 cup.of dried or micro dried fruit and let macerate for a few days to make your own homemade Marnier style fruit liqueur.

Hey Tran! I can't wait to try the 20 and the "Jamie 1". It is definitely a great brandy to mix up rotation. I am not a big coffee drinker but I want to try and make a Spanish coffee with it. I like your Liqueur idea. I don't know if I can stomach sacrificing the rest of the bottle though hehe

A great review, as always. I really like Torres 15 and 20. You get the richness and creaminess of Spanish brandy, without the heavy, overbearing flavor of sherry. I love sherry and sherry brandies, but often the heavy sherry flavor completely cover the character of the brandy. BTW Jarez is pronounced "heret", not "jaresz" as it's spelling may deceivingly suggest.

Thanks Christian. I am looking forward to the 20 year. I appreciate the heads up on the pronunciation. It certainly is deceiving, I would have never guessed. haha. The one thing I truly like about Spanish Brandies is their incredible value and price points. They are definitely one of the best kept secrets in the Brandy genre. Cheers

@@MaxsCognacReview I just order the Torres 20 and the Torres 30 I will let you know how it went down.

@@sfchrisrom From all the variety of Spanish brandies Torres is at the bottom of my list. The only one Torres I can really enjoy is "Jaime I" and for its price, if you do not want sherried brandies, I would definetly pick a Peinado 20 or a Constitución Cadena Plata instead.

Have you tried Torres 10 before? I'm having this but it kinda burns. Not sure what's different with 10.
@MaxsCognacReview4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jean thanks for checking out the review. I have not tried the 10 before. I believe it is a a few years younger in age so it will have more burn/alcohol than the older expressions. Cheers

Thought it was just me. The 15 seems a little hotter than the 10 and 5. Still a great brandy for price.

I haven't tried this brandy, but it has the same rating as the Remy Martin XO? Whoa 🍷🍷

Hey Mitar, thanks for checking out the review. It is really good but really good for a brandy. If I had to rate it against a Cognac I’d probably dock 10 points off and call it an 85/100. In the future I’m going account for this in my ratings. Happy holidays! Cheers

@@MaxsCognacReview Hi Max and thanks for your reply. If you're looking for a quality brandy, I can recommend you something from the Balkans - Institut loza (grapes or grappa) and Stara Sokolova 12 or Zlatni tok 5/10/15 (plum). Cheers 🍷

@@MaxsCognacReview Grappa is my favourite brandy. Plum also is great - twice destiled, maturated in the oak barrels for years. And it is often an excellent bang for the buck. And some of them, matured in the barels for 15 or 20 years, IMHO are on subpar with the far expensive cognacs and armagnacs. But the tradition, technology and consistency are on the side of the French 😊 Good luck with your brandy adventure Max!!!

Thanks Mitar! It is high time I explore Grappa. I have been amazed at the value in some of these Brandies. I love Cognac but the prices are through the roof for the XO+. Armagnac is not bad... still some great value there. I've seen some plum brandy on the shelf and have come close to picking up a bottle. I am definitely looking forward top trying it out! I really appreciate the recommendations! Happy Holidays!
