Check it out, he's a full fledged fitness instructor who says this and then smokes a cigarette, i like this interview even though it's not full of laughter he makes some good points.

Lol, well ofcourse he's old. He's one of the oldest and most badass rockers in metal history, love. I still cant get over the fact that he says he's a fitness instructor and then takes a drag of his ciggarette, it was adorable. Lol. 0:34-0:44

The accent Cronos has is called Geordie. New Castle is also located in North East England not far from the Scottish Border. Although if Cronos used full on Geordie not a whole lot of people could or would understand what he was saying. Ever get a chance to go to New Castle Upon Tyne England you'd know what I mean. Great people too.

For sure man I know the Who have played a major influence on metal but all Im saying is that IMO Geezer was the first bass player to introduce the lead bass style in (not rock or hard rock but) metal. If you want to talk hard rock (not what Im talking about) then yeah Entwhistle, Jack Bruce, etc but I said METAL!!!

cheers for the post, we need more Venom on youtube. And remember black metal was invented in the north east not fucking norway

1.) I love how Cronos has that confident sort of personality, which can be perceived as cocky. So I change my perception from part 1. 2.) Did Conrad really do back up vocals in a Cradle of Filth song?

Obviously it comes from blues. Zep and Purple and the rest practically wouldn't have had careers without that influence. I never said HUGE influence.
@swans199715 жыл бұрын
Geezer Butler started the lead bass thing? Er, My Generation, did that years before bro. Not to take away or undermine Geezer, but Entwistle was blocks ahead of either Geezer or Harris for that matter. Pick or choose your faves but history speaks for itself. On that note I'm sure there are other bassists doing that schtick before Entwistle, but Generation, features a great lead bass riff if you want to call it that.
@NapalmScum16 жыл бұрын
And yea, but I am pretty sure Cronos didn't care for playing well. Hes said hes bad a few times and thats the way it works best for him.

priest started heavy metal, sabbth started the ground of metal they didn't even call themselves metal, they inlfuensed venom, priest they were also influensed by kiss and AC/DC. but they later called themselves in the late 70 black and heavy metal, and then came diamond head, maiden quite riot, etc etc all the otehr 80s metal band and then later thrash in the mid-80ths and in the end of 80s death, black metal bands started showing up

@jonybeam Fame and influence are not same New musical genders and sub-cultures arise from VENOM, thousands of bands, a lot of things happened from the inspiration they spread. Venom is very important in the extreme metal, if you don't like venom, you can't be a true black metalhead Iron Maiden was a massive band, famous, many many manyyyy people loved it, but what did they influence? What more than bands who wanned to be like them? I never heard anything so great about em hes not jealous

um, they don't have a HUGE influense, most influense in real 80th and 70ths metal come from blues, kiss, AC/DC, sabbath and bach and classic music like that. sabbath would prefer listen to blues that's way older then rock n roll they wouldn't listne to beatles or the who or something like that, that was was hip hop is in our ears to them

OMG, I can't believe it: "In the seventies there wasn't much music to listen to, but now there is." So in the seventies you had Sabbath and Deep Purple and now you have Trivium and Dodheimsgard. Great progress ... NOT!! Another one: "No one was influenced by Iron Maiden". In a way he is right. There are few Maiden copycats. But every metal band that came after has a little of Maden in them. Venom need to learn how to play their instruments first. I like Venom, but they take themselves too serio
