Torture Testing an Afikim S4HD & Baja Wrangler 2

I've owned my Baja Wrangler 2 for a little over 3 months. I live in PA and my property is very hilly. I use the scooter as a yard utility vehicle. I ride around to do the weed wacking, trim the hedges, clean-up yard debris, get the mail each day and tow my 96-gal garbage tote up and down my steep gravel driveway. So far it has more than enough power for anything I've done. I have the 75Ah batteries and only need to charge it about every 3 weeks. I did swap out the captain's chair for a smaller seat from a Pride Victory scooter. The stock seat while comfortable was just too large and tall. The Victory seat is perfect and looks much more well proportioned on the machine. I also made my own rear carry basket from an oversized milk-crate using some 1-inch square tubing to attach to the stock receiver. I use it for carrying tools and other cargo while doing yard chores. It also has clamps on the side to hold my grabber tool and cane. I'm anxious to see how it does in the snow this winter going up and down the driveway to get the mail each day. Previously I was using a small riding mower with the deck removed as a pseudo scooter and it worked fine so I'm fairly confident the two-rear wheel drive of the Wrangler will offer sufficient traction. One thing I noticed, the front suspension on the Wrangler 2 has (6) grease zerk fittings. Some of which are very difficult to access. Oddly, there is no mention of these in the owner's manual and it appears that none of the joints were greased at the factory.

Yes, we noticed that about the grease fittings too, seems like they really don't want their customers greasing up their unit and would rather have service technicians handle that sort of thing. Question, would you be willing to send us some video footage of The Wrangler on snow? That's something we cannot recreate here in Florida unfortunately. Been dying to get some footage for customers up north. Just thought I'd ask, my father always told me that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Thanks for watching our video and supporting us!

@@MobilityDirect One of the issues I ran into with the grease fittings is on long lower tubes that run front-to-back. The tubing is so thin that there really isn't anything for the zerk to thread into and as a result when I tried to grease them one of the zerks popped out and there doesn't seem to be enough material to thread it back in. It's been too hot in the garage lately to fool with it. I figure I might have to epoxy the zerk back in. I have a good selection of zerk fittings so I'm hoping I can find something that fits. I am hoping to get some video this winter of the Wrangler in the snow - hopefully video of it tracking along and not stuck. :-) I would be happy to share it. I've only ever found one video on KZbin of someone running in the snow with a Wrangler.

The Baja line is an awesome line of mobility they are performance work horses. The Revo 2.0 is no slouch and its really reliable.

For what we need it for, I think I'd go with standard version, single seat, regular tires Afikim S4 for daily mail runs and pull the trash bin up and down our steep driveway. These are the only 2 scooters that have enough power to pull our driveway. It would be a dream to be able to afford an Afikim.

I'm in Minnesota and own The Baja 2 ! I have been know to launch a small fishing boat with with no issues ! Does Pride offer the double seat ? I'm also interested in the weather enclosure for it . I have been know to put a small snow plow on the front to move light snow on the sidewalk ! With a weather cab i could use it year-around and i use it to pull a garden wagon loaded with refreshments at car shows , am thinking about building a trailer with a seat for the wife to ride along ! I've owned 5 Pride scooters and by far the Baja is the BEAST ! I don't need another scooter but the weather enclosure would be fantastic !

When charging the S4, when it's fully charged, does the charger act as a trickle charger?

It really depends on the charger. The manufacture's charger is a 8amp charger and yes it does trickle charge.

How wide are they? would they be able to do down grossery isle or though doorway?

They would not fit through a standard doorway, but if you get the S4 with the normal tires it would. You can use the S4 in a grocery store, but it all depends on management and whether or not they want to give you trouble. These are technically not considered Mobility scooters. They are recreational scooters.

Hi Sergio, I currently own a pride pursuit. I am looking at upgrading to either a Pride PX4 or Afikim S4. I need the ground clearance and something durable. I have had my pride pursuit scooter for 10 years. I spoke to Eric at your store. I live in Pa and I drove my scooter in the scooter. I use my scooter to drive 2 blocks to my work. Would you suggest a S4 or a PX4 ? I need the ground clearance and I need to get out of my rough alley to get to work. I drive my scooter on a daily basis to wrk 5 days a week except when it’s cold. Any suggestions for a replacement scooter please let me know.
