They take your breath away. They are so elegant, graceful and constantly in synchronization with each other. Sometimes when I am watching skating competitions and the male throws the female in the air, I find myself so nervous that he may drop her or they both may fall I can't really even enjoy watching them. I felt as though I was floating around the ice with this couple.

When I first saw this it made me want to become an ice dancer... but I was way too old to start.

When I saw them skate in the Olympics it was the first time I had ever heard Bolero and I instantly fell in love with it.

Ice dancing is like ballroom dancing only on ice skates. In this Olympic routine, Torvill and Dean received a perfect score of 6.0 from all nine judges... something that had never been done by any pair of skaters for a single Olympic program... and has never been achieved since.

2022 and this is as breathtaking now as it was then. It’s pure magic. What Torvill & Dean did was combining technical perfection with remarkable choreography and dramatism.

@@GUBAR2000 I had never seen this pair before. I didn't start watching ice dancing previous to 1984. They were definitely graceful and a joy to watch. I love the fact the first music piece was "I Could Have Danced All Night." It seems really appropriate for an ice dancing team. One thing that really amazes me about Torvill and Dean is that they are still skating to Bolero all these years later (albeit a slightly "easier" version). I love Bolero and though they had to make it "shorter" they did an excellent job. Of course, their skating was just superb.
