Background Information : Jayne was 20, Chris was 19. This was their first international ISU competition. With them in the K&C, Janet Sawbridge, the coach who put them together, an Ice Dancer herself and medallist. After this competition, Janet stayed in the UK during pregnancy so didn't go to Worlds in Canada. There, they were looked after by Betty Callway, who liked their Free Dance and so offered to be their coach. From there, it was a match made in heaven.

You could definitely see their talent here unless you were blind you would know they were headed for greatness. Perfect pair … and they were still working full time …unbelievable!

They certainly had a penchant for bright green back in those days. Edge work, leg lines, unison and proximity evident even in these early days

Hard to believe these two , still working full time, got in enough practices to do this fantastic routine...their beautiful and handsome bodies.you already knew they were going to be the best ever. 19 and 20 years old..Omygosh. I wonder was their first show, but I don’t think so as I overheard Jayne say something to her coach like it’s happened before referring to the one low mark with all the other 5.0’s. I loved this routine, so smooth and very pretty music.

An example of judges opinions.. lol. Public better judges than the real judges, but it showed team did not give up....came back the BEST ever. Greatest example of Skating as one n love of Skating thru the years Awesome twosome!
