Tory Lanez has been on one recently. Depending on your perspective of the rapper, his actions can be seen as either supremely confident or utterly insane. However, one thing is for sure, the Canadian rap star has no problem mixing it up with anyone who wants lyrical smoke.
In his decade-long run of putting out music, Lanez has gotten into it on wax and in person with several artists, including some of the biggest MCs out. His mainstream career began with a much-publicized beef with fellow Canadian rap crooner Drake that lasted a few years. Along the way, he’s engaged in a number of additional disputes, with one nearly coming to blows, and several others resulting in back-and-forth lyrical jabs.

BEST TECHNICAL WAY I CAN EXPLAIN IT BUT ...GET A BETTER DESCRIPTION FROM AN ACTUAL STUDIO ENGINEER OR A RAPPER Punch ins are the amount of takes in a vocal session....If you spit a standard 16 bar verse but its cut into 4 takes.....meaning you couldn't spit it all in one take....each of those 4 takes are punch ins.......just listen to Don Qs "Im not Joyner" very closely and you'll see what I mean

Tory definitely won. Don q evidently only went into this battle with only one thing in his pocket which was the fact that Tory bit his freestyle. This is why he began to lose his shit when he found out Tory was sifting for info on him. This is due to him not really having much to talk about because Tory has made sure his life was so public that there is not much a person can reveal to the public(because its already out there). Hence why he relied heavily on trying to denounce his gangster status and different punchlines about his hairline. Although in terms of a lyrical warfare Don q certainly won.

Don Q is a NY battle veteran, and in a head to head battle its a 2 out of 3 to claim a defining win. And battle vets dance around and throw jabs playing possum until round 3 then theyre knockout attempts come out. Anything leading up to round 3 becomes ammo for your opponents to use against you thats why Don did 5 min of straight battle bars with minimal content so it couldn't be ammo for Tory but it makes a statement trying to suck Tory into a traditional do or die round where he would feel like he had to match 5 minutes of battle bars. Smart move for Tory but he threw in the towel at the first bell so also a tap out to avoid the bigger build up to a final round with an mc who has far more battle experience

Tory shut down a chance of a round 2 before Don Q did respond. (Within a couple hours) Tory knows damn well Don Q was gonna expect 3 rounds cause hes from the NY battle scene and its always a 1 2 combo of just enough fluff to set up the KO in round 3. Don Q had 5 min of bars no hook just battle rapping clever but minimal reversible content . The first 2 rounds become ammo for that final nail in the coffin verse if you leave too much content out there. Tory didnt want to play, so he spit a 1 and done aka tap out that took 3 days to make. He knew if he got sucked in to 3 heats with a NY battle veteran it was . Smart move by Tory but a tap out none the less. NY is the mecca you play by their rules and battle format. You don't walk into the church as a visitor and shush the pastor half way through and tell him to wrap it up. By responding once Tory accepted the challenge but threw in the towel to avoid the bigger build up to a final do or die verse that he would most likely come up short. Makes it hard to judge since its technically only half a battle
