Tory rebellion looms as PM imposes stricter Covid restrictions - BBC Newsnight

Prime Minister Boris Johnson set out a new "rule of six", restricting gatherings to a maximum of six people, enforced by police able to issue fines or make arrests.
Mr Johnson also outlined a "moonshot" plan to control the virus with mass testing, possibly by next spring.
The move comes after the second week in September saw cases rise from 12.5 infections per 100,000 people to 19.7 per 100,000 across the UK.
But the response on the Tory back benches to the increased restrictions has been far from effusive. More than that - Newsnight has learnt there's a looming rebellion.

I see people seemingly going back to their lives regardless- apart from mask wearing in shops it seems most here are just getting on with it now. As a nurse I worked 58 hours last week with a mask on- I will seriously have to review my future as it causes me to have fibres in my throat, sore throat, headache and feeling so rough on night duty. After 41 years nursing this has been the worse decision making with no clincal sense behind it- masks dont work but they cause other infection

As from today I am introducing the one time pad. All social communication must be done using the one time pad. For the sake of everyone's mental and physical health we insist that you all use the one time pad. Close Everything for 4 weeks Economy might die but covid has been defeated. As very very hard and unrealistic that that sounds somewhere along those lines that needs to happen.
