Hi!
No music. No talking. Just work.
If you are taking your TOSHIBA L505 laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
So, just watch this video and fix your laptop.
Have fun and good luck!!

I have the regular L505 (the more media center focused black model) and this video is still very effective even today. Helps save another computer from the landfill.

You made my day! :) Btw, if you will look around on KZbin, you will find people taking apart laptops sitting on the carpet floor, on the bed, wobble camera left/right or some videos with low res and bad camera position, that people just breaking laptops by dropping on the floor and other nonsense. They also not using at least some antistatic device like my one (that is pretty useless, but that's why I am using something else) Anyway, thanks for comment!

Some people like it, some people don't. I guess this video is still better than some videos with blurry image, weird/shaking camera position and some wrong music playing in it?

Hi! everything can have a different reasons. Toshiba is not bad to find a drivers, I guess it is possible on a Toshiba main site... Sound can be also a driver problem.

Good have you upgraded a processor on one of these before? I have a L505D GS-6000 and I plan to upgrade it to a AMD Phenom N970 Going to open it up tomorrow and clean it out and make sure I can take out the processor first before I go buying this and finding it is soldered. Anyways if you have updated to a quad core let me know thanks.

Does the processor come out of these laptops? Or are they soldered onto the board? I am wanting to upgrade my processor and I think it would help out to know before I tried to take mine apart to find out and mess it up.

Just this past weekend my keyboard failed. The screen turns on and at the beginning on the screen it says Press enter to reboot, press down and enter to start windows normally. I can't press down or any of the keys. Would you suggest I take the keyboard out and clean it? Buy a separate keyboard and mouse or just get a new laptop? My laptop was purchased back in 2009. I love it but just sucks the keyboard isn't responding to anything. Your input would be greatly appreciated 👍🙏🙂💻

Hi, depend on what USB is not working, maybe it just got unplugged. Same with sound, but it can also be a driver. I am sure you can open this laptop with one regular screwdriver and a knife, ok, knife is a little hard, better something strong but thin plastic, thinner and stronger than credit card :) And some 2 fine flat screwdrivers to unplug some cables... Also an anti-static device, better one that you can connect to an outlet. Have a good luck!

Seems simple enough except all those screws just annoys the heck out of me. Anyways this is a great help as I have a L505 D GS 6000 and they look almost identical. And my DC Jack probably has a loose wire than needs soldered back on as I can plug it in and it doesn't work unless I rotate the cord a little and then it gets power. And to clean it that is simple enough just use a can of air duster or a air compressor and blow out any and all dust you see. The best place to use it is the fans as they are what helps heat get pushed out of the system. Also a usb fan stand helps as it gives extra air flow for it to push out hot air.

@regazzz
@regazzz 12 жыл бұрын
You can do pretty much the same what I do, just do not remove LCD because it can stay. Do not mix all screws. Take a A4 paper and put all screws where they are on a case bottom, and another A4 paper for palmrest, another one for motherboard. Get a thermal paste. Then put them back. Use anti-static bracelet or some other device. Be careful! Have a good luck!

K, not sure if this pertains to this forum but I'll tell ya whats up with my L505D-S5965. When I turn it on and it starts booting, i get the black screen telling me it wasnt shut down properly and to choose how i want it to start. Well, the keyboard doesnt work at this point, so I cant choose anything besides the one thats highlighted. THEN, it goes to the blue screen of death saying the BIOS is not fully ACPI compliant. I tried the battery trick, no go.

It depend how dirty it is. You will be able to access some part of it.
@regazzz
@regazzz 12 жыл бұрын
First of all you have to make sure that you did not see anything on a screen in a dark. Picture is maybe very dimmed barely visible. If not than 2nd step is to check if everything is connected. Video cable connected to a motherboard and to LCD, better put some tape where it is connecting to LCD. make sure it is also connected to Inverter.If no luck than connect to a external monitor. See picture, than either LCD is bad or inverter. test inverter first (it is cheap). Good ok. No, need new LCD

would you know how to fix my toshiba problem? Everytime i turn it on, it goes to the black screen that says start repair launch or start windows normally, i click start windows normally and it says starting windows, then goes to a blue screen that says an error has occurred then goes back to the black screen that says start windows normally or start repair launch, i click start repair launch and end up waiting an hour for it to say no problems detected, and does the same thing again. help?

I took out the processors, hard drive and disc drive just messing around (not cpu savvy), nothing worked, same result. I gave it a rest. So, TODAY I turn it on and the fkr starts right up. I reset it using the " hold '0' while turning it on process. Worked great. I set the whole thing up to my preferences and all that. I turned it off. A few hours later I turned it on and it went RIGHT BACK TO THE BLUE SCREEN. How in the hell did that happen?

LOL, well that is how to get inside a L505D but the grap the halves and rip the laptop apart is not the first choice in separating the shell. Sliding a credit card or guitar pick along between the top and bottom halves will separate the clips without breaking them as happened here.
