As always, great review, I love your reviews. I belive that the FHD is my perfect laptop. I have a Yoga 3 11, but the performance and the unreliable touchpad is annoying. I love 11.6 size but nobody build high end machines on this size.

thanks, been waiting for your review...have been using it for almost a month and only can praise it...the display is simply the best, unbeliveable clarity and sharpness watching 4k videos...cons: as you mentioned, battery, only getting 4-5 hours light use, keyboard is on the smallish side, not too bad...the fan noise is bothersome as well, mostly on, 90% i'd say, boots really quick, webcam focuses on multiple faces. bestbuy has it on sale for $899 now, look for p25w model. would be very interested if you can update us on battery life. thanks again.

This is strange because I recall seeing the information somewhere. I will double check and put correction notes in if necessary. Thanks for the feedback Alexander.

I've just bought one of these laptops for £699 running Windows 10 out of the box. I'm really very happy with it and I would confirm that I get about 4 hours 45 mins from the battery and for the price and specification I think this is a great laptop and would definitely recommend it.

hi chris, how's the fan? is it mostly on and loud? also, are you able to turn on/off backlight on the keyboard with fn+z? if anyone interested, ebay sells it for $660 right now...
@cdlelondon8 жыл бұрын
+Makho Ushveridze The fan never comes on with regular use or if it does I can't hear it , I don't use it for anything like video editing though and yes the back light keyboard can be turned on and off with fn+z

I usually use tablets over, say, 8" on my lap anyway, so I don't think the weight would bother me. Maybe I'm the exception, but this would make a great tablet for me when in that mode! Clarifying, I'm probably going to get the i5/1080p version. Thank you for clarifying that the USB-C port on this does indeed support Thunderbolt I wasn't able to find that put before. Possibly opens this up to use with those external graphics card bays that are over the horizon, such as the Razer Core, making it a decent gaming rig. The battery life is much better on the 1080p/i5 version, about 6 or 7 which is average among Ultrabooks, but is fine for me as I won't be using this for work.

I would like to recommend this laptop, I may have experienced an isolated incident but I am having to return mine under warranty. Bought it from PC World / Currys for £699 and the fan that cools the CPU is dodgy. It makes a grinding noise and causes the laptop to vibrate badly (especially under high performance power profile) and it's not meant to. Unfortunately PC World no longer sells this model of laptop, so replacement is not possible, which really annoys me. I'm considering swapping it for a 14" Lenovo convertible instead for the same price. To be honest, it doesn't surprise me, there's obviously a reason why these i7 6500U CPUs are only dual core, not quad core, because the laptop is so thin and light and cooling is inadequate (it would never be able to cool a quad core i7 and the fan in mine went dodgy after only 3 weeks of use.

Hello, what's the use of this USB Type-C Gen 2 Port? Is it not thunderbolt 3? So does this mean that i could use external storage, type-c to HDMI, VGA, or Ethernet, and that's it? No external GPU and No charging the laptop?

Did anyone had experienced screen pixelation at black/dark scenes videos and color conturing? Do you know any fix for this?

during your use of this laptop did you experience any touch-pad issues ? By issues I mean it would randomly stop working and a few seconds later begin to work again (not lag). If you did, how did correct the issue. Great laptop for the price (600USD) p25w-c2300-4k. any guidance would help. thank you

This review is for the european version of this device. The touch pad issues are occuring more in the US version. Based on my experience with Toshiba laptops, I think is a driver issue which will be fixed with a future update

on a few forums it is thought to be a grounding issue that has been resolved by soldering an insulated copper wire to part of the frame. I dont want to do that since it would void warranty. I was hoping that he would have some knowledge as to why this is occurring and maybe how to remedy. Got this laptop for 500 dollars US and was the only one left so they cant switch it out.

I got it at an good price too (3000 RON/around 735$) and I've returned the first 2 laptops before I have received a good one. First one had a noise problem, it had a disturbing vibrating cooler noise; the second one had a manufacture issue; the third one is better. But none had any issues with the track pad. Usually Toshiba laptops here have cooler issues. I have another Toshiba Satellite laptop (15" version) and for few months it had track pad issues (the multi touch would stop working and it resumed working only after reboot). But luckily, this was resolved a couple of weeks ago, after the track pad driver received an update.

how was this driver distributed? Windows toshiba or 3rd party

Toshiba website/driver section for your specific model. I also use Driver Booster 3 software, usually drivers updates appear faster here.

Can anyone tell me if this model supports the USB 3.1 alternate mode, convert to Displayport,I really nee to know. It is said it has the capability of Thunderbolt port, is it true?

@alexanderfagot41168 жыл бұрын
Toshiba website doesnt confirm the Thunderbolt capability. Even your full written test does not mention Thunderbolt capability, so I doubt this feature exists. If it had Thunderbolt it might be kinda interesting but not without. Battery life is bad in every other test I read about this device and considering it has been around for a few months I doubt Toshiba seems to care about improving battery life by updating the firmware like Dell does.

GTA V works Battlefield 1 works DBZ XV2 works Skyrim works Fallout 4 works but drops fps sometimes Batman AC works MVC 3 Ultimate works only game I came across that didn't work was Mafia 3 it went 12 fps at best oh yeah and well to me most of all Dolphin 5.0 plays most wii and gc games perfect. But I hate the physical make of these things but hardware wise it's a beast it does a lot and if they do something about the battery because it sucks really bad I get an hour and a half playing games or making music which is horrible.
