Hisense is more of a Chinese version of Japanese Toshiba.

Bought a Toshiba. Understand Hisense owned Toshiba TV dept now, did a compare side by side somehow Toshiba is slightly better clarity and real colour compared to Hisense. Guess the reason why still price slightly higher than Hisense though most shop will just recommend Hisense to save some bucks.

@@davidc2758 So I bought both Hisense & Toshiba brands (and have LG etc [moved on from SONY]): the Toshiba is usually a year ahead tech whise, and 7-to-14% higher price, AND the Toshiba is ALWAYS HEAVIER because Hisense use more plastic & less metal. The weight of the SIMILAR MODEL and same size is the Toshiba is always 5Kg or so better built.

Toshiba still using own Regza engine developed in house of Toshiba production unit . Oled tv of Toshiba uses Japan Oled panel . Toshiba is higher end of Hisense .

But Toshiba has its own tv division . Oled tv , panel Japan made . Regza engine is still a Toshiba tech , not Hisense . I m impressed with this mini led though . And also Oled .

Oled has the most backlights at the back like hundreds of thousands . oled screen is not led , it is oled . the most expensive . Mini led has like a few thousands backlights Full aray led tv has like a few hundreds backlighting . Edge lit led tv has the least lights , and located at the edge of the TV only . least quality.

Regza engine is different , of they can share the plastic casing to reduce cost ,m but Toshiba tech is different .

@@abhs1141 Hisense own 95% of the Toshiba Visual Solutions Corporation , I'm pretty sure there's more than just casing sharing going on here. For instance the software used by the toshiba is VIDAA also owned and developed by Hisense.

You are mostly right, tv panel and all associated components are share. Except the tuning. Hisense tenses to be over saturated and Toshiba looks more natural particularly HDR contents.

They share the plastic cover of tv and remotes . But the engine is different . Toshiba is still developed by own unit , Regza is developed independently from Hisense . It is the same , but the same . Toshiba is higher end of Hisense . To me with Toshiba is the best value , while you can have that Japanese quality, they share the less critical parts with Hisense to keep the cost Lower than other Japanese brands . My opinion . I watch the Toshiba Oled tv lately , the color is so natural , looks awesome to me . I don’t like cartoonese like color in tv . But Hisense is more vivid , cartoonese like . Some like it .
