I fish on Anna Maria Island from January until May. Sheepshead are most of the fish caught. Some black drum, too. You nailed the way to catch and cook them. Good eats👍

Next time when you put the fish back in the broiler, put a layer of crushed sea salt and vinegar potato chips on top of the mayo spread. They will blacken up. Excellent!!

Have you ever thought about using the carcass to make fish stock? Nothing better than, just like growing, catching or harvesting your own food. Stock couldn’t be easier to make.

You guys can put the extra fish 🐟 in a freezer bag and save them for later so if you don't catch no fish that day yet you will have some in the freezer for that day

Nice catches but that was not a spanish mackerel. That was a juvenile king. Check the lateral line. Spanish mackerel lateral lines do not dip like that.

@DarcizzleOffshore 100% is a juvenile king. I made the same mistake before. I personally have caught tons of Spanish Macks. Brought home Spanish and accidentally took a King home thinking it was a Spanish. Then noticed the subtle differences when cleaning them and found my mistake. It happens to the best of us. No big deal just saying be careful.
