I baked an Apple Pie for desert. l used the apple pealing for my Tri Tip to sit on roasting with onions and garlic it smells wonderful. I wanted a winter BBQ woodsy flavor. Baking in my old oven at 350 basting with the apple-onion -roast drippings. 2 lb roast for 1:30 minutes use temp gauge for rare to med. Out now sat for 20 min. It's really delicious with a wood-oven flavor. Add roasted Sweet potatoes, green beans with roasted red bell-peppers and salad with shredded apple French dressing. Fit for a queen.

140 plus resting thats medium well. But doesnt matter that much because its tri tip with the fat so its gonna be good but next time do 135. Tri tip is super easy i do 2 of them start to finish in my toaster oven. Salg in pepper on outside then cook em like 420 to sear for like 20 minutes then down to 350 for 40 minutes and its done. Its one of the easiest things to do but it does take 50 min to 65 min at that temp depending how u want it

I know most cooks say 125-130 is the temp you want for tri-tip, but I take mine to just over 140 when using indoor oven snd let it sit fb or 30 minutes or so. I like the texture better. Ag a's in, as I always say cook it and eat it to your liking. You're the chief of your beef.

Let me tell you. My wife would love that. I can never cook the perfect piece of meat for her. I like mine rare, she likes hers well, and while that may be a little over for me, I'm sure it is still very good, and perfect for her, and that is more important. You are a magician with that toaster oven

No Hippie BBQ & Cooking Thanks! Cooking red meat is tough because everyone likes it a different way. My wife likes hers really rare but this tri tip had so much fat in it I decided to cook it a bit longer. It turned out pretty tender.

Jim, I don't attempt grilling large pieces of meat for the same reasons you stated, there are countless great barbecuing, smoking, and grilling experts here on KZbin. They put me to shame. But you showed that cooking a beautiful beef tri tip can be easy, even with just a toaster oven! The sear on the outside was gorgeous. The meat inside was beautifully juicy and tender! This is a winner! Outstanding!

Exactly the opposite for my kitchen. Try baking first then sear it via the broiler for 3 minutes at 500 each side but at the end. I would also say that's over cooked.

just some criticism, you can eat the fat for one, and if it's under trimmed the trim it up yourself, fat is healthy for you, and is lighter than muscle so you are really paying much more for it as well it's where all the flavor comes from, just letting you know
