I've missed you guys! Great TAC footage! Right at 10:03 you see Dillan's arrow start counterclockwise, then stop, then reverse at the top of the ark. Insane camera work! Might want to swap that helical!

I noticed that as well, some people say it doesn’t affect accuracy. I just feel if that’s the natural rotation of your arrow why fight it?

I came here to same the same thing lol. It's crazy it comes out spinning so fast to the left then completely stops spinning for 1/3rd of the distance and starts spinning right. Seems like 2/3rds of the distance before the right offset vanes take control, mind blown.

That slow mo arrow flight at 10:00 was insane, arrow spins left, no spin then right. Awesome footage. Also looks like Micah has been hitting the weights, looking jacked dude!

Thank you! It’s hard to know for sure if the camera is playing tricks on us or not. We have found that sometimes the arrow appears to be spinning fast enough that at the rate at which we film the arrow appears to be spinning one way visually, when it is actually going the other way. Similar to looking at a propeller on an airplane that appears to be spinning backwards on a camera once it is spinning at a certain speed. We don’t know this as fact as we are still testing it, but it is definitely plausible! Good eye!

You all make my favorite TAC videos. The combination of side views and behind views is great. Thanks for sharing. Would be interested to hear Rachel’s thoughts on that sight. I’ve considered one but can’t pull the trigger on it.

Thank you so much! We encourage you to check them out for yourself to form your own opinion as what we like/dislike may be completely different than your own opinion. I believe they are selling in Scheels stores and also typically have a both set up at most big archery related events like TAC.

Really good video. Thanks for sharing. Look closely at the shot at 9'59. The arrow is changing the way it's clocking during the flight. I think the arrow isn't fletched the right direction compared to the way the bow send the arrow (I hope you understand what I mean, I'm french 😅)

Hey Josh, Great job as usual. Are you using an index finger release aid? I thought you always used a thumb button release? If you switched to an index finger release aid, why? Please let me know.
@BowOnlyOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Hey Doug, Thank you! I was using an index finger release aid. I shoot all styles of releases but mainly stick with the resistance and hinge release. I wanted to challenge myself by shooting something I’m less comfortable with in a more stressful shooting situation like the total archery challenge to see how I was able to control my execution. I do prefer to shoot the handheld style releases, just wanted to challenge myself.

@@BowOnlyOutdoors how do you'll think it will work in a hunting situation? I love the idea of 2 pins but I am hesitant because I like the reliability of multiple pins.
@BowOnlyOutdoors Жыл бұрын
@@jackbuendgen389 I am the same way. I strongly prefer a 5 pin sight for hunting but I’m planning to use it for whitetail this year as i don’t have many scenarios where I would shoot past 40 yards. I have the double pin which I can set on at 20 and 39 at the same location. I plan to add a white dot on the post in between to reference 30 so that it acts as a 3 pin 20-40 yards to have all my bases covered for whitetail hunting from a treestand. For out west, I will continue to shoot a 5 pin slider.

Why wasn’t Rachel shooting with her back bar when you set that bow up for her it had one on it
@BowOnlyOutdoors9 ай бұрын
She shot it with the back bar for a long time but took it off one day to try and found that she shot better with less overall bow weight.

What course was this, as in difficulty, easy, medium, hard, or long range? Im practicing for my first TAC.
@BowOnlyOutdoors9 ай бұрын
The Sitka course often has the more technical and challenging shots such as shooting through tight gaps in trees, over top of brush, underneath logs, as well as long range and steep angled shots. I would consider Sitka to be one of if not the hardest course options

tough course, many of those target set ups would not be ethical for hunting

So true! Very fun to shoot with good friends though. Certainly helps you realize your limitations. Like you said, many of these shots would not be ideal in an actual hunting scenario.
