@TotalChaosFabrication2 жыл бұрын
@@yotagang3705 Hey Pauly, both options for the dry lube will work great for the uniballs. One is a drip and the other is an aerosol but they're both the same thing. You are correct to use Super Lube grease for the bushings.

Have you performed regular maintenance by greasing them every 5,000 miles? If you have 200k on your UCA's, you're well overdue for fresh new bushings and uniballs.

Can I replace the Total chaos UCA polyurethane bushings with another bushing that won’t be an issue & squeaky noisy , I’m frustrated with the polyurethane bushings , definitely not made for a daily driver , just they look cool , but that damn noise & yes I grease the UCA’s. Too much maintenance

Do you have to have the truck on a jack or lift? Or can I have wheels on the ground?

@@mgltacoma yeah that's fine, it's just that when you torque it down and set the bushings in position it should be while in resting/neutral position.

After you grease the UCA bushings, what do torque down the through bolts too? Also do you have to remove the wheel to grease the UCA?
@TotalChaosFabrication2 жыл бұрын
Hey David, torque spec for the UCA through bolt is 100 ft/lbs. With some shock setups it's possible to grease the bushings without removing the wheel but we'd recommend removing it. It will give you way more room to work and ensure that the all components are cleaned up and in good working order.

Do you have to disconnect the upper ball joint from steering knuckle? Trying to be less invasive.

No, the upper control arm will remain bolted to the knuckle during this process. You only need to loosen the 19mm through bolt as shown at 0:15 in the video.

@jdm8577 Жыл бұрын
Anything that is machined and mechanically welded is expensive. Machinery to do this costs $100,000’s of dollars. Research and development costs money too. Don’t buy them and stick to your stock uca’s and I’ll blow past you on the trails bro. 😂😂😂 you could go SPC uca’s for about $600 and have to replace your ball joints every 20,000 miles. An OEM uca for a Toyota 4Runner is $398 per arm so around $800 for both which is made from cheap stamped steel and has a much weaker ball joint which could handle maybe a 2” lift if you’re lucky.
