Great explanation of the coordinates system. I understand latitude and longitude and do frequently get mixed up which is which. But with your elevator floor analogy I don't think I will ever mix them up again. Excellent video.

Had something odd happen. I found a A class. Put down a base computer and a landing pad next to the salvage. Came back a few days later to claim it. Then discover a npc claimed the ship. I could recruit to my squadron or purchase for free. Thought it was odd…

Thank you for the explanation and guide. My issue is when looking at a distant planet, how do I know how I am oriented viz-a-viz the planets true north and south pole to actually aim for the spot (like south-west part of the planet with a -25 -40 sort of coordinates? How can I orient myself correctly to the planet's north (in space - from afar) before making the trip to the planet? Thank you.

Sweet video ! Just had an OMG moment. I was trying to find the last animal on a planet a few days ago to claim the bonus nanites, the description said it was "in the North". I just kept flying north and stopping to look, I know how to use coordinates to find things but it never occurred to me I could also use them to see whether I was actually in the North. Also I had no idea about that 'you are here' marker on the planet in the discoveries tab. Can you tell by looking at a planet from in space which is North and which is South ?

Sometimes! Look at the cloud patterns and they will sort of converge towards a pole. I totally forgot to mention that. 😩
